The Minnesota Wild improved to 24-11-4 after beating the Washington Capitals 4-3 in a Shootout Thursday night in Washington. The Wild won their second game in a row and led 2-1 after 1 thanks to goals from Ryan Hartman and Yakov Trenin. The Capitals tied the score and took the lead in the 3rd, but Marco Rossi scored his 15th goal of the season and the game headed to overtime. After nearly winning the game late, the Wild won in a shootout as Matt Boldy scored the game winning shootout goal and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped Alexander Ovechkin in the shootout to preserve the win. The Minnesota Wild went 0/2 on the Power Play and 2/3 on the Penalty Kill. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 of 31 shots in the win. The Wild head to Carolina Saturday for their next game.

I missed the game entirely but stopped in the post game live stream. I got outta there pretty quickly though because there were some trolls trying to get political about Ovechkin.
Anyway, nice win against a quality opponent. Nice to see Flower get a start and a win.
I was channel surfing and watched Colorado win 5-6 straight draws (MacKinnon) to come back and beat Buffalo. When we played many moons ago, we would get screamed at taking icings instead draining the clock. Buffalo iced the puck repeatedly, yikes – shit-show hockey. The Wedgwood injury does look bleak. Lastly regarding that game, DO NOT watch the Colorado broadcast – homer city and obnoxious.
As for the Wild, just go .500 – .600 while these guys are out and it’ll pay dividends come March. Getting points against Washington, hopefully Carolina, all add up as the Central looks like quagmire going forwards.
