The San Diego Gulls fell to the Ontario Reign in a 4-1 loss at Toyota Arena on Friday night. After a scoreless first period, Ontario opened the scoring early in the second with a goal from Jeff Malott. San Diego responded with a tally from Jan Myšák, assisted by Sasha Pastujov and Tristan Luneau, to tie the game heading into the final frame. However, the Reign surged in the third period, netting three unanswered goals, including a power-play strike from Jack Studnicka and an insurance marker from Samuel Fagemo. The Gulls struggled to find offensive rhythm, managing just 23 shots to Ontario’s 33, while both teams combined for 30 penalty minutes. Despite solid goaltending efforts by Oscar Dansk, the Gulls couldn’t contain Ontario’s relentless attack, led by Malott, Studnicka, and Caleb Jones, who earned the three stars of the game.
