what's happening to canada and hockey might be kinda like basketball and the united states. watching that documentary on "redeem team" drove how hard the best NBA players had to practice and train to beat the rest of the world once they all got better at basketball.
JD kinda looks like a young Kyper 😂 Time Machine !
Good to see that y’all have good takes on the Buffalo Colorado situation unlike Elliott. Also, Jonathan Toews was a bad third liner in 2022. What is that person talking about?
The face thing reminds me of moneyball when there talking about the projects being good looking lol
No one understands the problem in Winnipeg with fan support. PLENTY of fan support. the problem is there is no corporate support due to Manitoba not being a rich corporate market like ANY other Canadian city. The team is too dependent on needing to sell out a building of 15000 fans. Corporate boxes are not sold. Fans support the team and selling a few Toews jerseys is cool, but not what is going to sell out the building every night. Luckily the Jets have one of Canada's richest owners that is committed to the team and has been completely rebuilding the downtown area around the arena. Lots invested, Jets will be fine.
where were both Bedard and Celebrini??
But then again, the US could have had Smith.
"Melting Pot" to me, is a definition of the States, and does not apply to Canadian society see volume of people who hold onto their originating ethnicities.
Welcome to the Show JD
Knies still post concussion
You know that set of fake glasses, nose and moustashe? Look at Sammy with glasses and tell me that's not what you see…
@7:45 I hate the diversity conversation… If the best HOCKEY PLAYERS are all white, why is that a problem? Are we really going to put an asian in skates an tell him to play NHL, just to get an asian in the NHL? If he's skilled enough as a hockey player, yes, but the overwhelming trend is Northern countries that have year-round snow/ice (Canada, Sweden, Finland, Russia, etc…) are the best at hockey.
When was hockey an affordable sport? Did it become the opposite once the value of the CAD $ dropped so low? I’m confused on how you can conflate the idea of inclusion in this sport vs it “suddenly” becoming expensive so it’s now what, pushing out the middle class people who previously sunk all this $ into their child to play this sport? lol I’m sorry but the grasping at straws to be relatable and not sound privileged because you realized your less privileged than the kid playing next to you is banana lands
My dad's a hockey fan, and from that generation where Canada was guaranteed to beat everyone 10-1 or 15-1. I like close games, BUT Latvia and Chec Republic shouldn't be beating Canada IF canada sent their best. Bedard and Celebrini are both eligible, and there' no chance that Chicago or San Jose will send either of them.
MARNER FOR CROSBY
Blame Trudeau for inflation and the economy in Canada. Money printing and lockdown nonsense based on zero scientific basis whatsoever. Have you seen food prices in Canada lately? And we are complaining people can’t afford hockey? Many cannot afford food.
It's the young guns crew. No old man Kyper 😂
How is Chicago not publicly interested in Toews? is the Kyle Beach & un-named others case(s) a deterent? To my knowledge Toews wasn't involved in that. Toews should be a legend in Chicago, and you can give him the A if Foligno has truly earned the C. The B-Hawks could maybe use some veteran calmness in their turblent changing of the guard.
Chill out Canadian hockey is super strong one bad junior team is no big deal..next year we win it all again
The reason they're so bad is because they were shut down during covid. The other countries weren't shut down as hard.
Are the isles the leafs minus star players?
23:32 JB's reaction lol
Who's the boy?
Kyper out didn't notice you three guys can bring it
Soon it will cost $100 to see a minor peewee hockey team in toronto or montreal or vancouver
I get it jd good point
For me its like.. this is not the real Kyper & Bourne 😱
Canada isn't a melting pott, that's a black propaganda talking point used against White Canadians to replace and genocide us in our own homeland.
Cant afford hockey if you cant afford housing and we cant bring the price of housng down until we start mass deportations. Its a fact of life now.
A non White will never identify as Canadian.
Why is this hockey podcast talking about race?
All young boys in Canada growing up woke more soft girly boys Trudeau wants to make all men soft and controlled by women
Bumkiss? No thanks. I'll tune back in when the hockey player is back
HOCKEY IS TOO EXPENSIVE.
Bunkis needs to learn to give others space when he is sharing a show. I love hearing Bourne 's opinion and he could barely finish a thought
The entire world is based on catering to the wealthy these days. Just look at the overall cost of living, cost for entertainment, cost to travel for leisure, etc.
Too much of a bullshit. Really little on a subject.
I'm an American but I still believe Canada has the best pool of great players. If Hockey Canada changes direction and get a new voice behind the bench I believe the Canadian youth team with be dominate again.
I do not want to see Easton Cowen in a Leaf jersey.
There has to be a way to take the cost out of hockey. A stick is as costly as a poor computer? Skates for more than a good computer? Where's the cost hidden. We need to outsource to cheaper markets to get the costs down. Then we need to reduce costs for younger players. No special camps other at the very beginning of the season.
Yeah we are in Winnipeg and pay $120 per kid for 20-24 sessions on an outdoor rink. Timbits does this for 4-8yr old kids in the neighborhood. We can’t afford the $500 indoor rink prices(plus full equipment). I notice our more affluent neighbours don’t even put their kids in hockey, only soccer.
on another note, canada's junior cricket team is looking extremely promising
Why is it every few words someone says ‘like’
Guys be concise and no need to lower yourselves to that level of speaking
Hockey Canada has made hockey unaffordable. No one has sympathy for that organization. I feel for the players. But hockey Canada has screwed this country over whether it’s the fees players have to pay, the assault “fund” or the ticket prices are they charge. And the hockey iq is at an all time low, everyone wants to me the next bedard
