It was a stupid, stupid rule to begin with.
Fakest and Gayest controversy of all time. There was never an argument that it should be disallowed. It was an absolutely clean goal with 100% nothing wrong with it. The explanation was clear and unmistakable. The goal is good and this fact is unambiguously uncontroversial.
Everything was so much better in 1999.
Was not legal
Nothing wrong with that goal, no intereference
Hasek on Buffalo was scary. If buffalo just had a few more pieces they would have won a few cups. But I agree the crease rule was terrible and I still remember hockey fans thinking that rule was still valid a few years ago. That's how bad this rule was
not a fan of either team.. but looking at the replay the league actually got it right.. his foot left the crease.. then he kicked the puck to his stick having control while he leg goes into the crease in that kicking motion, he then shoots the puck in the net… players are aloud to enter the crease on a breakaway back then, this is no different… The key is he did leave crease for a half second, re entered after he gained control of the puck.. It's a good goal.
I remember that brett hull goal, i didnt know about the 3 disallowed goals for Edmonton, Bettman has been on a rampage to make sure a Caanadian team cant win for soo damn long.
If their jerseys said anything but Sabres on it, that never would have happened but the city of Buffalo is cursed in every sport. Trust me, as a Bills- Sabres fan of 50 years, I know.
Watching Hasek highlights makes my heart heavy.
Dallas having the Stars is the monstrosity
Gary Bettman is a muppet as r all commissioners of pro sports
Now do a video for Kerry Fraser. 1993 series, Leafs/Kings game SIX
Nice Stuff! Left a Follow!
No goal! Foot in the crease!
Hasek is the biggest flopper of all time. Not even top 5
I miss the hockey of the 80's and 90's. These kids now are wimps
marty was better
Gritty
I miss the days when goalies ruled the league. Now every team scores 6-7 goals a night
Born and raised Buffalo Sabres fan and I'm proud and I'm crying. Good vid.
So, "Goal Crease" is basically the Hockey version of an "Offside" in Football?? (Soccer for the weird people)
Great video on such a controversial, yet pivotal moment.
Bottomline: Gary Bettman is the worst
That game reinforced my disdain for Harry Buttman (Gary Bettmen).
Sure, my Red Wings probably benefited from some less than stellar calls by him, and the refs.
But, that call right there, irked even me. A die hard Wings fan.
Sorry Buffalo. You shoulda had a fighting chance in game seven, imo.
Never watched hockey can’t believe I missed so much stuff I did pick the KINGS being in California
Thanks for the video
As a Minnesota fan this video hurts a lot, although I never got to watch the North Stars I still feel a bit of a connection to that team probably because my dad was a big fan when he was a kid, so you can imagine how hard it was for him and all the other Minnesota hockey fans when Dallas took our team and did something in less than 10 years that Minnesota fans had been waiting for for about 25 years, it just stings knowing that this could have should have been our cup and that the city who took our team away got to have it instead, this is probably the sole reason why I cant stand the Dallas stars
It was a good goal and everyone knew it..the goalie gave up rebound… saw this exact same thing about one month before involving LA Kings….
NHL on FOX was awesome
I remember watching this on TV being confused, because that goal shouldn't have counted. People were complaining for so long about the rules on the subject, and the fact they let it stand was insane.
Hasek and Belfour were teammates in Chicago
Hasek relieved Eddie in game 4 of the Cup Finals against the Pens
Oh right…the Minnesota team
