if it's less than 3.5 x 4 is fine. Anything more than, no.
It'll be a really tough decision to make considering the fact that very good young prospects are pointing on the horizon(Beck, Hage, Kapanen).
Evans, if he's trade for a first round middle pick: go for it !
They will save this extra money to give to their young superstars like Hutson, in the futur.
Just gotta be careful with handing out big contracts to players having career years during their contract season. Getting a good pick makes sense and signing him at a good price also makes sense. I don't think there's a defacto right call here.
We keep him for a team-friendly price, if he can't do it, then good luck to him in free agency, but something tells me he enjoys playing here.
Trading him would be a huge mistake, he's playing great, let him play. Basically, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If we can lock him in before the trade deadline, do it, if we can't figure out a good deal make sure to trade him before he can walk away
Personally id rather keep him. He is the core of the pk unit, and is playing way above 4th line paygrade right now. Take out dvorak from the lineup, put evans on he 3rd and call up owen beck to the 4th
