Hey guys today in this video im going to be talking to you guys about how patrik laine is changing the montreal canadiens with his great play for them as he has 10 points in 13 games with montreal canadiens that consists of 8 power play goals and 2 assists and he has played really nicely for the canadiens. I point out in this video how he has had a nice emotional presence in the locker room especially for suzuki and cole caufield as the canadiens in this 13 game span have gone 9-4 which is more wins then they had in the previous 24 games but hey gimme your guys thoughts on this down below!

  1. And there's Demidov, too, going forward; maybe Demidov might play on Laine's line next season…

  2. My take is this: the main reason the pp has become successful has been Lane Hutson. He is the cake. He was able to make pp2 look good at the start of the year. Laine is the icing on the cake. The team is playing injury free for the first time in years. We are now filled with NHL players and we aren’t trying to slot in random AHL players into roles they can’t consistently do. Next Laine has made line 2 a legitimate line. Without him there all the other lines would have to play up, past their comfort levels. That’s been his biggest affect on the team. The bottom 6 can just be the bottom 6 and they have all embraced their roles.

  3. As Habs fan, he's been a GREAT addition! Great PP goals, great plays, great passes. We'd like to get a little more intensity in his game and hope he'll get better over time. Just his presence on the ice makes a BIG difference….

  4. Habs are done grabbing pieces for the rebuild, we are not trying to be in the draft lottery, but I think some players will fall to real contender teams nonetheless, players like Dvorak, andersson or Savard, it will be nice to see what they do, even Laine & Gallagher aren't safe, but I'll be sad to see them leave.

With Hutson emerging, Demidov coming next year, Reinbacher still recovering, Dobes and Fowler for a bright Goalie future, Things are looking great here. Our 25th Stanley Cup will be memorable.

  5. I am not a habs fan, but live in Montreal . Its good to see habs fans proud of their team.

  6. When you think about it, the Habs have won back to back to back agaisnt 3 of the last 4 Stanley Cup champions of the past 5 years (just cool fyi)

  7. The current success of this team, and that is an indirect result of Laine's presence, is the scoring coming from the secondary players. You got Gallagher's resurgence, Evans, a little spark from Dach, Himmelman, Armia, Newhook, the rookie Hutson's continued contributions, the threat that a healthy Anderson presents, goal-tending and honestly, a solid backline. They are small, but got some spunk and spirit. The smell of victory in the morning is intoxicating and additive.

  8. Laine has been great thats for sure but IMO Carrier is the reason why we're a better team. With Carrier in the line up, everyone is in the right chair. The defense is more stable now

  9. Let that GOOD feeling and spirit last for this whole season also coming seasons inside Montreal Canadiens locker room and between players and whole Team.

  10. There is injure guaranteed sooner or later. Little bit weak bones I would guess.

  11. I dont understand why so many says that Armia needs to go? He plays 4th line, kills penalty, still makes points and fight like a lion.. with Laine and Carrier boosting the team, they will be in playoffs, If they (the team)stay healthy, like now. Hope so,Happy New Year habs and everybody!

  12. So happy for Laine and the Canadiens, he has found the right place now and the future looks much brighter. Laine is still relatively young, so hopefully he has his best years and seasons ahead of him in Montreal 🙂

  13. We need to not just credit Laine here. Here are the main guys I want to give their flowers:

    1. Entire 4th line. Over the entire time theyve played together, theyve arguably been the best 4th line in the NHL

    2. Dach+Slav. Both had some big struggles at the start of the year but are starting to find their groove and some chemistry. Providing our 5 on 5 offense frkm our top 6 a big boost.

    3. Carrier. Another guy whos seeminglessly fit into a pk2 line 2 role with Guhle. Hes done it all. His point production has been very high with MTL. his defense has been amazing and so has his physicality. He provides so much by turning a defensive liability who didnt even play most nights to a guy who is the opposite. Provides a big boost overall

    4. Monty. Hasnt gotten insane credit for not putting up eye popping numbers but has legit been playing a bunch of games. Like im talking starter numbers. He plays great against all teams and his stats are mostly carried down by the occasional blunder of a game. He went from an AHL waived goalie to a 3rd NHL goalie to a backup to a 1A to a starter from 20-21 – 21-22 – 22-23 – 24-25. For a goalie thats very quick growth and he's done it without many patches in the road. Has managed to sustain solid stats and solid recrd considering the team hes had around him.

  14. While the arrival of Laine fixed the offense and, as we say in french, he allowed everyone else to "fall into the right chair", the Carrier trade similarly fixed the defense – we still need to trade matheson for a real rhd, but it's undeniable that carrier allowed at least guhle to fall back in his own chair, and Carrier's balanced, controlled play has been a blessing, allowing each pair to focus on their strength – physical, gritty play from xhekaj and savard, all around control from guhle and carrier, and agressive, pure offensive play by hutson and matheson

  15. everyone has good point in the comments but i do fail to see one MAJOR reasosns the habs are now looking good;
    the lack of injuries.

  16. Interesting report , we miss Patty in Winnipeg. He is looking better 5 on 5 and that is his weakness, he wanted top 6 minutes here but his defensive play didn't merit it at the time. He is a team player, I've seen him back up smaller guys, and he has a great attitude. I heard Pat Maroon trying to intimidate him before a playoff game and Laine gave as good as he got, Maroon called out his poor production as of late and Patty reminded him ' weren't you just on a conditioning stint in the minors becasue you were too fat to play? (true) lol Not bad for a 19 year old kid. He's a beauty.

  17. Someone who can score effortlessly is a huge bonus for any team just like a goalie who can stop almost anything. It provides you a reward for all your hard work. There was a time where the habs graded from good to mediocre depending on how healthy Carey Price was, while they generated a lot of shots. They had good players, could keep the puck , move it around but very few finishers. It becomes pretty demoralizing if you have all sorts of zone time but never score. Doubly so if you do that and your goalie gives up two or three extra goals.
This is great for Laine and very nice for Montreal.
2015/16 we were 9th in shots taken and 16th in goals scored. 2018/19 3rd in shots taken but 13th in goals scored. That was a tough year with Domi, Gallagher, Tatar, Drouin and Andrew Shaw being your leading scorers, with Gallagher the closest to being a goal scorer in the bunch. Paul Byron lead them in shooting percentage.
Next year we were second in shots taken but 19th in goals scored.
it was a lot of play in the offensive zone to score a goal.
Nice to be on the other end of it.

  18. Excellent video. The mere presence of Patrik changes the way other teams can defend these Habs. They can't ignore Laine, because his shot is deadly, and that makes it easier for his line-mates to score.

  19. Hutson and Laine have made the powerplay lethal.

The confidence transfers to 5v5 and so you see everyone buying in to the forecheck and defensive systems MSL has been trying to teach this whole time.

Heineman Evans Armia is the best 4th line in the league.

Most importantly, Alex Carrier is EATING 23 minutes a night and together with Guhle have brought stability to the blue line this team hasn’t had since Weber was here.

    It’s all coming together now.

  20. Laine is now -5. and its going to be a lot lower when the season is over. This hype will be soon over 😢 now 4 games without goals and this will keep going. There is nothing new. Good shot Is just not enough
