I hope they qualify for Europe this season. It's where they need to be. It's only a matter of hanging on to the players they got, Bruno in particular, sign players wisely and take the final step to become a top club in the league. Every time the break comes from United's right, one centre back have to double up as wing back. That leaves Maguire very exposed and it keeps repeating itself time after time. 3-4-3 is not a balanced formation. For Pete's sake go back to 4-4-2.
So many times this team has had coaches who have implemented ultra-disciplined play, but none of them have worked. With the players this team has, many of whom have good individual skills, I think it would be better to hire a coach who implements effective and tactical play… I don't know if this team made a mistake in getting rid of Ruud, but if Ruben doesn't work out, ask Ruud or Don Carlo if they want to go to OT next season.
