    If another team actually wants Zibanejad and he waives his no move clause to go there, we would have to retain salary obviously.

    To your question I would try this theory.
    Laviolette probably hoped for Zibanejad to score the big goal in order to give him a badly needed boost since they were playing at 6 against 4.
    That's the only justification I can come up with at this point.

    I don't think I have seen a player lose his skills like Mika. It is somewhat scary to see. He was a 200 foot player. I hope he is OK.

    Didn’t even watch the game. Die hard fan since the 80’s and don’t even care about them this year. They have no fight this season.
    Lavi isn’t the problem, it’s the players but you can’t fire the players.
    That said if I was Dolan : Fire Drury.
    If I was Drury: start trading or figure out how to trade the following. Mika , Smith , Vessy, Quick, Miller, Lindgren, Igor and Maybe Krieder.
    And if I’m Lavi: Mika to the press box already.
    This is almost the same team as last year. Drury didn’t address the issues, put some youth in from the minors. Even though management has treated players badly ( players have to deal with it)

    only option is to buy him (mika Z.)out or scratch him until he leaves by his own will, he is only there to cash in clearly he is sinking this team and he needs to go some way sooner rather than later

    Watching Chytil last night had me flashing back to Alex Kovalev's first tour of duty with NYR.
