No to a Stankoven trade, yes to a Bourque trade. Stankoven has that dog in him that you can’t teach.
Even with the visual Woes of our defense. Being second lowest in the league in our GAA says our boys are putting in work. We lack goal scoring. We lost a key component of our best line. We can’t score on our power play, so teams don’t feel threat when taking penalties. It feels weird to say but, We need some one who can put the pill in the net. Teams are making trades now. I say we bring some one in and get them built into line chemistry before playoffs.
I wish I didn’t have to talk about Robertson nearly every episode… these last 3 games, Robertson finally looked faster than usual, and I’m happy to see it. He’s working harder and I like it. I still think that stankoven would help hintz and Robertson more than Johnson, and I think Johnson would do better with duchene and marchment. Marchment has trust issues with stankoven, and duchene buckles with pressure. The second duchene said he would feel awesome helping stankoven get a Calder, his shot went to shit, and started taking a stutter step. Duchene HAS to be in a low stress environment to shine
I'm seeing Mavrik on his butt a lot this season, I could not wait until he got called up but he just has not shown me too much out there. We need help now. I would be ok for a trade with him involved. Dumba has not shown me a lot as well, bad passes, not bringing the physicality night to night. Bring up Stranges and trade Dumba and Mavrik for a better blue liner. I saw Stranges weave through five players like butter so bad he made them look like a bunch of ten year olds and score.
Would love an segment where you go over who the stars should target in trades with the segiun LTIR money. Would love to hear what you think about Rasmus Anderson, Malkin, Brock Nelson, Dylan Larkin or even a Mikko rantanen
Too much sloppy risky low % hockey often it is better to keep it simple move pucks out dump pucks in.Dallas has 3 D men all top 36 in the league for defensive zone turnovers and you can add in Harley at #47 so 4 players all D men all in the top 50 of the league.
One stat I like to rely on that tells me if players are engaged enough is shots on goal and Duchene is NOT where I need to see him which is at least 2 /gm he has 46 shots in 27 games not good enough.So about his current success he is shooting at 26% there is absolutely ZERO chance he can maintain that so exepct him any day now to hit a slump and come back down to Earth.
Imo it was always going to be too much to ask Wyatt to be THE guy but we need him and Robertson to be better especially Robertson.
Last game I tired to look closely at Robertson to see why he has been struggling for some time now imo he lacks anticipation is more a reaction player and he is not fast enough to be that type of player.
W/o Seguin w/o Duchene who will tail off and w/o Robertson being better this is NOT a cup contender just a playoff team.
