firsts point of contact was bogosian's hand on bouchard's back… he hit him from behind. Sitting the rest of the game was the right call. Probably doesn't need a suspension.
if he had time to turn bogosian had time to let up.. bouchard's hands were at his sides and didn't have a chance to protect himself. He was in a vulnerable position and that's why bogosian got the 5+GM. Wasn't bouchard's fault, he was just trying to protect the puck.
Bouchard clearly saw him coming, turned and was bending over into the boards. When Bogosian was coming to hit him his arms would have hit square in the chest but hit Bouchards neck instead. He didn't throw his body into him, he slowed down and stopped himself with his arms.
At some point players NEED to be aware of where they are on the ice, who's on the ice and start protecting themselves. It wasn't too long ago the announcers would have said something closer to: "we'll kids, thats why you keep your head up and don't turn to the boards without protecting yourselves".
It is bullshit that there was not a suspension on this hit in the sense that there have been similar plays like this over this NHL season and players have been suspended. It looks like to me that the NHL is a little bias in who they are going to suspend.
What i hate about this is the wild only got 1 minute of PP time. I don't like the warrant either that if a guy is turning its ok to ram him from behind into the boards. – Biased Wild fan
@digitalbooya123… He played a couple of games after that but then missed the rest of the season because of a concussion a year latter he came back from a concussion that had him out for over a year
