He's been given looks on every line. Hasn't really shown what he's good at? Passing? Boardwork? Faceoffs? Physicality? Does he fight? He's lost a step. I like him but the oilers are a contending team and play very competitive games. I hope he works through this tho but its almost halfway through season and im not sure there's a spot for him especially when arvidson kinda has same skillset.😊

With the struggles of some of our other forwards, I really think Skinner should be given a longer look in the top 6. I get that his defensive game isn't there, but that isn't exactly unusual for a top 6 winger. Some are great defensive forwards, but tons are not.
Historically, he contributes more than he gives up. Put him with Connor for atleast a few games, see what happens. It would make a huge difference to get him going.
It's becoming more and more obvious that Knoblauck isn't anything special. Guy was gifted a stacked team. Refuses to try obvious lines. Clearly has favoritisms. No reason why Skinner hasn't been on the top two lines for a bit. Many times I've seen Hyman and Nuge be absolutely useless. They both just have padded stats from McD and Drai. Put either of them on the bottom two lines and they would be potentially worse then Skinner.
And yet a different player gets rewarded for poor defensive play by getting first unit PP, and OT, minutes. I could get points by passing it to McDavid or Draisaitl every chance I get.

Letting Broberg, Holloway, Foegle and McLeod walk makes it all the more worse when these new players underperform. The team is not stronger than last year so all the predictions about making the finals again seems like a stretch. At the same time the team seems like they could pop off again so who really knows.
Knoblauch hasn't been fair to Jeff Skinner. He didn't get the fair chances to play in the right mix, and his mistakes are being punished harsher than others, such as Stecher who gave 8 min of penalty vs Ducks. When Draisaitl gave a silly Penalty early in the Season, Knoblauch punished him for couple shifts. Yet Stecher when he makes mistakes, Knoblauch says, "I didn't even notice!". Or others who had streches of no good games, Henrique, RNH, Hyman, none of them were 'punished', but Jeff Skinner is 'not playing well' according to Knoblauch. It is up to the trainer to motivate properly and give proper roles, to Jeff too! He deserves it!
He really deserves way more chances. It's just so disheartening to see him being mismanaged so much. How can you possibly expect a guy to fit in immediately and produce lots when he isn't even being given a consistent chance anywhere in the line up? I truly hope Knoblauch can see that he's mismanaging him and give him another CONSISTENT longer chance somewhere. He deserves to be in the lineup no matter what. He's such a genuinely nice guy as well on top of it all.

All Skinner has to do is work the Gove-and-Go, make his pass FAST get pucks off his stick FAST then bolt to holes to force pucks to come back, its all about a super fast pass to give the puck to Leon or Connor then a dart to a high percentage shooting area to recieve the puck back, then just finish as usual……. trick for Skinner now is to be quicker than they want on the pass back to force the give-and-go…. Skinners actually working to hard at the wrong things, he needs to just relax and be a very good Wingman instead of a Captain. Nuge between Brown and Skinner is a deadly serious 2-3rd line option. Nuge is a natural Centerman, and is being miscast terribly.

Skinner, you gotta fight to all hell to get in this roster! 🙏
Hes in a tough spot. Hes counted on and brought here to score goals. He might be a litrle slow for the Oilers needs. Hes not really physical. And hes not really a slasher. Maybe not hard to play against. Obviously he knows where to go. But if hes not on a line with a great passer hes not gonna score on up and down games. Its tough.
I think considering what he meant to the teamhe shoule of gotten more top 6 play for 35-45 games at least and not getting demoted by 20 games.i think thats fair.
Perhaps things will change when he gets another opportunity.
There seems to be always someone the coach has in the doghouse. Even potkolzin who its teally strange to think he was in tocchets doghouse with how his style is
I feel bad for Jeff. I feel like he hasn't been given a chance. I don't understand signing him and putting him on the fourth line. He's not a 4th liner.

Imagine being stupid enough to pick DR over skinner,how is he supposed to get better if he doesn't get ice time and when he does very little.
