  1. Great video, but no love for Kuzy from KHL to represent Russia as center? Now if only delulu leafs fans would realize how improbable it will be for Auston Matthews to pass the great one after watching this video!

  2. I mean….you can name on one hand the amount of players with 800+ goals and 700+ assist….none of them are playing.Mathews is lucky to be in the same sentence as this man

  3. I love your videos so much, first one I watched was about L and R shooters, I'm a rightie btw

  4. I didnt realize I needed this Ovi plastering people montage, but goddamn has he blasted some guys

  5. @ 4:11 just proves we need a video on dustin brown and how unappreciated across the league as a player he is, top 5 hits, 2 stanley cups, was the kings capitan and set so many franchise records

  6. I mean this as a compliment but I see the jimmy high roller influence on this channel. Keep it up, some of the highest quality hockey YouTube content!

  7. THIS is what people don't understand about the Ovi vs Crosby debate. They're completely different players and asking who is better point blank entirely misses the point. If you were trying to dream up the perfect hockey player in a lab it's Sid. While Ovi, on the other hand, is a player no one ever would have ever thought to dream up. Thank you for making this video!

  8. Another player like Ovi? I always kind of thought his game was kind of like Messier's but more scorey, less cuppy.

  9. The value of Ovechkin as a professional been proved with his lightning entrance in NHL literally from day one…statistics and records…but most importantly is his tremendous impact and legacy to franchise of WC and NHL generally…he has rebranded league to complete new level since his day one to present and no player ( even Sydney Crosby and others) can compete his Rock Star Status in the league

  10. He’s a unique and exciting player no doubt. But definitely not near the top tier, he’s not even the greatest player of his generation (Crosby).
He’s not really all around. +60 is his career plus minus despite all the goals he’s scored and the great teams he’s had.
He’s one won only 1 championship despiting having home ice in the playoff every year and he’s only been past the 2nd round once. I think his play style that you speak of is a huge reason why as the team captain. So yeah their are about 10-15 greater players.

  11. I wish you would've looked more into Howe and Richard comparisons, obviously a bygone era and not nearly as applicable, but they don't call it a Gordie Howe hat trick for nothing

  12. Wow crazy stats, I didn't realize how often he scored down low, and how many freaking hits he does! What a machine.

  13. it’s an absolute tragedy that this video isn’t viral. only 12k views? it deserves a grammy. amazing video man.

  14. That ending graph was more telling of how Alex Ovechkin plays hockey than the opening one was. Thats insane to see graphed out.

  15. I think Lindros would have been the closest comparison to Ovi. Both are big power forwards, but Ovi has a better hockey sense, which a lack of is what led to Eric's disastrous run-ins with Scott Stevens. A D-man who today would be dominant in the NHL.

  16. The best part is, Ovi fuels himself in Chicken Parm and Coca-Cola. It's like watching Babe Ruth crush 3 hotdogs and then hit a homerun.

  17. Only matthews is on a pace to catch him one day. Atleast for now, he is injured all the time so i doubt that. Atm he is about to score 400 goals faster than ovie did

  18. I grew up watching the 2000's Redwings and I feel incredibly lucky to have watched such fantastic players over the years, but even then, I can admit that Ovie embodies everything that is exciting about hockey and he certainly deserves the success he has had.

  19. I think hits were started to be recorded in 2007-2008 season so Ovi could be 1st already in hits if they were counted before.

  20. berry bonds sammy sosa feel with this chase. no way a 39 year old is running through the best league in the world like this without injections of some sort. league will look the other way
