Mika Zibanejad, K’Andre Miller & Peter Laviolette on the Rangers’ struggles after loss | SNY

The Rangers were hoping for a fresh start after losing five of their last six games but it was more of the same, as the Lightning handed New York a 6-2 loss on Saturday night. The Rangers’ special teams also faltered, allowing two power-play goals and two shorthanded tallies. Mika Zibanejad, K’Andre Miller and head coach Peter Laviolette all expressed frustration at the team’s struggles and questionable energy level but it was Laviolette who bluntly stated, “We’re in the business of winning hockey games and right now we’re not getting it done.”

  2. The reality is since the collapse against the devils and the panthers in the playoffs who pressured the rangers. Other teams who have recognized this weakness and have the ability to do the same in this season have been successful. Unless the rangers can find a way to counter act this action. They will continue to spiral downward.

  3. As a Devils fan this doesn't make me unhappy. But I have to say it's puzzling. There's so much talent on this team. Which means the culture in that room must be so negative and so fragile now, and it happened seemingly overnight.

  4. This team is TRYING to lose. No other explanation. Their entitlement knows no boundaries. Starting with the 9m per year 1C who is a -20. Where'd your game go buddy? no clue…

  5. its Zibanejad fault…they get their money and get too comfortable living in America…salaries should be based on performance for the year not based on potential…
