Pre-Game Report: Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks

The Edmonton Oilers close out back-to-back road games in California at the Honda Center on Sunday afternoon against the Anaheim Ducks, looking to rebound from a 4-3 overtime defeat to the Los Angeles Kings just 24 hours earlier.

The Oilers have taken their last seven meetings with the Ducks to tie their longest-active win streak (Pittsburgh) against any other NHL opponent, with Connor McDavid having recorded 17 points (5G, 12A) over a coinciding seven-game point streak vs. Anaheim. #oilers #edmontonoilers #nhl

  1. Unbelievable! Your slacking Austin…. better get on the ball in the New Year…..lol… messing around…. OILERS BETTER WIN TODAY…. if they don't…. better be little worried….

  2. I genuinely hope Henrique gets to sit in the press box today, his defence on goals 3 and 4 were absolutely inexcusable.

  3. The play the sealed overtime to me was Bouchard (for some reason?) going infront of skinner, getting slashed more than once and losing the puck, the officiating was frustrating but we had chances to put them away and we didn’t. The officiating sucks for all the teams sometimes, no excuses.

At what point do we start to discuss this team’s identity? We have some amazing games where everyone is moving and doing their part then we have games like yesterday? What is this team’s identity? Are we a barrage of goal scoring with a mix of speed and weight or are we slow and thoughtless with the puck?

We better win this game today. Absolutely 0 excuses.

  4. Curious your thoughts on the OT goal/missed calls by the refs..? I counted two on hyman, missed slash on Bouch in OT, and ref ignored Stu when he advised of an equipment malfunction – which I thought was an auto whistle (granted, Stu should have just shook off his mask like other goalies!) love the content man!

  5. I watch every video since the playoffs last year and I really enjoy your reaction videos but I need to say this because I feel like it's slightly getting on my nerves. Stuart Skinner isn't the best I get that but you do seem to use him a scape goat everytime the team losses and every time he wins he good. not once this season have you not blamed him or atleast hinted that a major part of the fault of the oilers loosing is Skinners fault. Like a goaile can have a good game but lose. Personality it comes off lasy and I'm not trying to call you out just seems like you can do a better job with Analysing a lost and not "i think he played a bad game" there's a lot that goes into a loss. My point simplified is if the oilers won in overtime i don't think you would of said Stuart Skinner had a bad game. Anyways that's just my opinion keep up the good work

  6. whatever may have happened with the strap, he could have let the helmet fall off. On at least 2 goals he didn't look good at all. ANd bouch had a brainf..t again, losing puck left of Skinner instead of going behind net, and 'gave' momentum to the kings, was a really bad one. Knoblauch is too passive, him, Skinner and Bouch were weak points.
