I love Joe sakic but I have to say the avs are straight up stupid for doing this, trading a 24 year old goalie who has shown some flashes of brilliance and a pick for a 32 year old goalie who's never really shown much of anything… It's not Annunen's fault that the avs have ridiculously undersized D-men who can't move anybody out from in front of their own net. Annunen can't stop what he can't see. This trade is so bad it almost looks like a Blackhawks trade.
This was a bridge to bide time for Nabokov (KHL for 2 more seasons). Early season performance proves that Justus just isn't ready to be a full time #2 on a decent team.
Andagain needs defensive defense men in front of him. The Avs don't tend to use them. He let in so many soft goals I'm surprised he stayed this long. It is not all on him but this trade does not surprise this life long Avalanche fan at all.

All love to Avs, but I think Denver might not be the best place to be young and developing goaltender so all the good Annunen.

Preds will trade Annunen for goal scoring power, probably quite quickly
Avs have another young up and comer that's expected to be amazing, but very questionable trade at this point in time.
