Hey guys today in this video im going to be showing you patrik laines biggest issue and that is being unable to score 5v5 and i believe that is due to his linemates kirby dach and alex newhook. Laine has shown to be in the offensive zone more then he was last season on 5v5 and yet he is still unable to score but in this video i show you a couple of examples of why patrik laines linemates are sorta bringing him down. Yes i know Laine has some part in why he is not scoring on 5v5 but I do believe his linemates are a huge reason why. It could also be because Laine just simply isn't shooting enough or he could be snake bitten but hes spending more offensive zone time this season on 5v5 then last season AND the season before based on the sample size so far.
From what I've watched this year Dach looks like one of the most ineffective players in the league at the moment, and Newhook is a decent 3rd liner at best. If Laine was with Caufield/Suzuki he'd put up some numbers 5 on 5 but Slaf needs to stay on that line. Hopefully Demidov and maybe even Hage are good to go for next season to play a top 6 role.
