As a Flames fan, Lomborghini is a beauty. It's not just his presence in the room. On the ice, he's an energy guy. And he actually brings energy. So many guys call themselves that and don't do jack when they actually get on the ice. Every time Lombo is on the ice, something good happens. It is awesome having him on the team.
Lomberg has been huge in reigniting the Flames culture. Conroy knew what he was doing when he brought in the Lombergini 🏎️

Despite being a big hockey fan for 65 years now i somehow missed out on knowing much about Ryan Lombard. I am a flames fan, and i remember him from his first stint but i have to admit that he kind of slipped by me.
Watching him this year i get it.
Team player, role player, steady, solid guy. Good asset.
There are a lot of guys on the Flames this year who fit well with his mindset.
The guys who are normaly points monsters are seemingly happy to play the grinding system instead of trying to pad the points. That is a new look for the Flames and its working. It those guys are willing to keep it up the Flames will continue to thrive.
For the guys who are coming into free agency it is a lot to ask because of course big points leads to big contracts.
Take Kuzmenko for example. Whatever it was that got Tochet so down on him is not showing up this year. If you watch him closely he is playing the team game. Working hard in both ends. Even Huberdeau is playing the grinding game at both ends, if only he could resist those blind passes.
Lombard has that 4th line playing great. At times the best line on the night.
Guys like Lombard are not falling for that "Team Dump" nonsense. They play to work hard and win.
Very impressive so far.
