Blue Jackets tying goal waved off after Wennberg clips Fleury

The Columbus Blue Jackets thought they had a tying goal until it was waved off after Alexander Wennberg clipped Marc-Andre Fleury.

  1. People complain that the jackets got this penalty but the same thing happened when the penguins played Toronto and Andersen came out of his crease and got hit

  2. Fleury definitely dove but that goal should have been waived off regardless, good call by the officials but I think they should have also given the Jackets a powerplay for Fleury diving

  3. Ok so the Nashville goal counts in game 3 ( same kind of situation ). This goal should of counted then as well.

  4. Horrible call. Fleury was arguably out of the crease and Wennberg was being lead into it and had a stick pinned against his chest. What a horrible series by the refs. Game 3 and 5 were pretty much won by the refs. It was great to see the Jackets play well this season. I would not be so upset about them losing, but I feel like they got screwed out of a game or two.

  5. he got hit in the face, of course he's gonna embellish. any other player/goalie would do the same in that situation.

  6. WHY DO THE REFS STINK SO BAD IN THIS YEAR'S PLAYOFFS! I have sympathy for the refs, it's a very tough job, but come on, at least have some consistency. That's the worst part, no consistency.

  7. I love all the hate this gets but, when savard crosschecks hornqvist into the goal post after a whistle everything is good,

  8. It was a penalty cause wennberg didn't try to avoid fleury even if he is outside the crease. If he tries to avoid him and still hits him, the goal is still waved off cause flour wasn't able to try to make a save. It doesn't matter whether or not wilson is on him, he's entitled to his lane. And for all of you yelling dive, you try getting hit in the head when you're least expecting it with a 200ish pound guy.

  9. NHL is so inconsistent, should have been the same thing that happened in the Hawks Preds series, he's out of the crease and he gets pushed into him by the Pens player. Also, it seems that Fleury has been taking notes on Mike Smith's diving tactics

  10. Someone get that guy an oscar! Isn't it not interference when your team mate causes the collision? Oh right, not when the pens do it

  11. Wenneberg was forced into Fleury by Wilson and Fleury is out of his crease. One of many favoritisms and dives by the Penguins to draw penalties. It's a shame, such a good team yet the feel the need to cheat to win.

  12. Jew owned NHL is so rigged. 2 games ago, Columbus best defenseman gets hit with the puck and is bleeding, no whistle which then leads to a Pittsburg goal. But when Pittsburg goalie is barely touched and then dives while out of the crease, they blow the whistle then disallow the goal while also calling a penalty. Come on people, it's not bad refs, it's actually what's best for NHL business and that's clearly Crosby and the penguins. BTW I am not blue jackets fan.

  13. Everyone saying "he was outside of the crease, good goal" …LEARN THE RULE. It doesn't matter if the goalie is outside the crease, you can't make contact and prevent him from making a save. Fleury 100% sold that, but everyone bitching about him being outside the crease…just shut up. It's the rule and it's the right call, whether you like it or not. I'm not even a pens fan.

  14. Ofcourse, the NHL and the refs made sure of this. Same hting in the Rangers-Canadiens series. They robbed Rangers of game 2 and tried to do the same in game 4.

  15. Absolutely terrible call that pretty much cost the Jackets a potential chance of game 6 at home. They also got screwed in game 3 with Werenski bleeding all over the ice, no whistle, and Pens score. By rule, the whistle should have been blown and the Pens would not have scored. Jackets screwed on two huge, series changing goals by the refs in this series.
