As far as Mathews, I think he's been battling injuries all year, even when he's been playing.. something has been off with him all season. I'm starting to worry about the longevity of his career, he's very injury prone. It's a shame too, because he's one of the best goal scorers on the planet and definitely the best that's ever wore a Leafs jersey. This team is soft as babyshit, the core 4 is the worst for this softness. The only one that goes to the net is Tavares but his feet are failing him as the older he gets. Still has great hands but his speed and ability are done.
so matthews is still hurt and they just keep playing him. sounds like a great plan. im pretty sure his wrists are toast as he has had problems with them since he entered the league. it must be written in marner/matthews contracts that they must ALWAYs play together no matter how much evidence there is that they suck togetther because marner refuses to pass to anyone but matthews so they just have to glue a guy to matthews and that line is shut down. jfc. how do you let the fucking islanders score 6 ??? good god man. how the fuck is reaves still on the team??? he doesnt even fight anymore so he isnt even a threat ffs.

Come the trade deadline I want Tavares, Reilly, McCabe, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Holmberg, Reeves (approx 27m) gone for 2 decent puck moving D men @ 9m each a C @ 9m and picks. Bring on the GD cats.
