6×8 even, he might not want 8 years. In 6 years, hes gonna be in his prime and would probably love to be in a contract year
"Minus 34 but he is on Montreal so it's OK" What a stupid statement. Don't sign anyone again until they have played at least 1 1/2 years on the team. The Slafkovsky contract was a mistake ( 60.8 M after scoring 20 goals) and you want to repeat it! Stick to being a Canucks fan and leave the Habs alone!
If he was on pp1 since the beginning and it Laine was in the lineup, he's easily a PPG player.

I believe the Habs will sign Lane to 8 yrs however they will keep it up with their 3 core already signed and it will be closer to 8m for 8 yrs. Hutson has no reason to sign for less. In fact, he might be the 1st core player that Montreal signs a little higher than Suzuki only due to the higher yearly $$ the league is making as a whole. TO ALL comments underneath this post, Hutson already has a contract until summer 2026. Any new contract signed going forward only start after his ELC has finished even if he signed a new one. A team can only offer a new contract to their player ONLY when the existing contract is 1 year or less from ending

He is worth more money then that for a long term contract.. He should sign for 3 years and negotiate for the long term after that. Look what he's doing right now and this is just a sample size.. This kid is gonna be a savage and a nightmare for the opposition. BIG things coming from this kid
