Neal Pionk has had an offensive explosion to start the season. He is in a contract year, and will be looking to get a large contact come summer time. But, is Pionk worth betting on long term?

Do you think the Jets sign Pionk after this season?
It would be smart if they let go of Pionk. Will they? Probably not.
Jets will be looking to Heinola to fill Pionk's spot next season.
Thinking Jets will be looking for a 2C in free agency or trade.
Yes he is playing well this season so far but is it obly for the contract? Once that comes would he just go back to his last couple of seasons self because if that is the case then it is best to find a new home for him and bring in someone stronger as our D is still pretty flaky. GO JETS GO!
If captain chaos wants to stick around im good with that. Samburg is a solid babysitter and the pairing works.
As for how much and how long. No more than 4 years, no more than 6 mill. Ideally 3×5.5m.
I would look to trade him now to some team that really needs offense and let them deal with his contract. His value is as high as it is going to get. I have been saying for 3 years that the Jets need better defensive players. I would also move Miller to the 2nd D unit right now until you can fill right side with a new D man. He has a much better shot than Pionk and would not be a down grade defensively.
Jets need to trade him as he would be a valuable trade piece to get a legit 2C
Isn't Salomonsson already a good replacement for Pionk going in to next season?
I'm confident Samberg would balance out and even make up for any weaknesses in Salo's game at that time.
He was -10 against CO in last years playoffs. We need a solid #2 to support 44 and move 2 with 54. 24 has impressed me and if Salomossen can step in there’s your top 6.
Samberg is seemingly easy to play with, lock him up long term.

Do not re sign this gut he's only playing well during a contract year… hes going to get a horrible contract come Free agency and team will be regretting it.

Either make a deal for a Byram or dman between now and deadline like Savard,Ristolainen,Romanov/Pulock,Parayko,Sanheim,Miller/Lindgren. Sign a UFA like Ekblad,Provorov,Jokiharju.
I know won't happen but I'd be open trading pionk/ehlers for someone locked up top 4 dman or 2nd line center. Same with Iafallo,Lambert,Lucius,Stanley,Freijs/2nd round pick depending on return.
He didn’t throw to terry it was a pass forward but it hit a stick and went to terry.
Watch the replays against Toronto today. Virtually every chaotic play around our net or long stretch pass against us involved PIONK. PIONK was 100% responsible for the first goal against. He left his man to go attack a guy at the BLUELINE like he did 2 games ago. That resulted in a goal against as well. I said he won’t be benched for this, and will be right back out there the next game. Bet on it. Guess who was right as always?
He is a career year specialist. I just hope WPG signs Samberg and Heinola for a shitload so there isn't much to spend on Pionk in the end of the day. I would much rather see Salomonsson in the lineup next year. Yes Pionk has a great shot and sometimes shows flashes of great plays but man our memory must not be that short this time. Do not sign him longterm for a shitload, it will be a mistake
He is going to cost 8 to 9 mill, not worth it it for the long term.
Absolutely not for the dollars someone will throw at him. He’s an abomination in his own end at times. Terrible in d zone coverage and not exactly physical and tends to get pushed around against fast physical teams. Please stay away!
