Can't blame Laine for telling the truth. Yes, things might be different in Columbus now after Kekäläinen is gone but it was hell back then and everybody, even Werenski knows it.
Classless move by Laine. Not only were the players and fans always pulling for Laine, but everyone showed him nothing but love and support while he was in the player assistance program. Way to make everyone that was in your corner hate you, Patty!
I am not a fan of either team but i see Laines point. Forget this years standings, Montreal is an upcoming team with even more talent coming int the future and a young D which is really good. I would rather play in Montreal too. Who would not? To bad if some people cannot except the truth
Yeah, pretty classless and distasteful from Laine. If he had at least been setting the world on fire during his four years there while the team could not match his performances, you could forgive it *a little bit*. But this was an embarrassing cheap shot for him to take. Especially, especially after what they've gone through with Gaudreau's death. From what little I knew about Laine, I was a fan a rooted for him as a player. Not really feeling so after this, if I'm being perfectly honest. Yuck.
Werenski is a such a hypocrite. He was part of the group of veterans who tried to push Laine and Elvis outside of Columbus. Laine only said what their own GM said in the past. I don't see why they are upset. They have been in the league for over 20 years and their record is awful. Laine is totally right and they proved his point by acting like complete losers.
It's better to keep that kind of informations for a book later after his player career. Before a game it's just pouring gaz on fire.
