No way for that trade
Calgary would need to add picks or a player to the leafs in order to dump Kadri’s contract.
Both Minten and McMann for a 34 year old? That would be a delusional move…it's not happening.
Minten isn't going anywhere, they need centre depth. I wouldn't even trade Minten straight up for Kadri. He could be better than him in a 2-4 years.
I am all for Kadri returning here, but I am not sure what the cost will be.
Merry Christmas everyone! As Darius said, the idea of Kadri back in Toronto is exciting, but given his contract, value and the assets going the other way this shouldn't happen and if it does, this would be another bad trade that is IMO very reactionary

Trading Minten would be so fkn stupid I would literally stop watching the leafs. That is insanely stupid. We don't need kadri whatsoever. I rather they go for morgan frost or someone else. I would not welcome him back and don't want him remotely.
The only way that would work would be the leafs have the treleving tax in order to get retained salary and get kadri calgary would only accept the trade if it was matthews and marner for kadri

Oh I know, I know… lets get ANOTHER ''complimentary piece'' that doesn't address the core & culture of this team (Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Tavares, Reilly…etc) I mean it hasn't worked for the past 8yrs, or for the past 20-30 players coming & going to ''improve this team'' but I'm sure THIS time will be different (SMH – I'm taking crazy pills here!)
Now can we HONESTLY talk about what's needed? It's time to trade one (or even 2 of): Matthews, Nylander, Tavares (I'm ok to hold onto Marner & Reilly IF the rest of the core has changed)… yes yes, all the people who think basketball & hockey teams are built the same way, (just get people who score points like Nylander & Matthews), but the team records don't lie…they're a BETTER team without them and when other players are given more playing time.

I would rather get O'Rielly. If people want Kadri because of his physical play. Max Pacioretty has done a good job physically. Kadri contract stinks. I cant see a trade for Kadri.

Kadri has a full no movement clause till the end of this season. He would need to approve any trade.
