On today’s episode of Locked On Stars, Joey updates you on the latest Dallas Stars lineup news from practice on Sunday. Matt Dumba practiced with the Stars for the first time in two weeks, Thomas Harley and Nils Lundkvist were present and the line combinations were all full after a few weeks dealing with the flu. He also discusses the Stars advanced numbers in regards to Goals Scored Above Expected, Saves Above Expected and more and the need for Dallas to find more consistent scoring. He also recaps Matt Rempe’s 8 game suspension for his hit on Miro Heiskanen. In the next segment, Joey previews the Utah Hockey Club who come in to tonight’s game on a five game win streak. This is a very important game for Dallas who have slid out of a playoff spot after their latest stumble. In the final segment, we play Shooting Star!

We can’t sit around and wait to find out. We need to pull the trigger with seguins money, make a coaching change, or tank for a pick and get some rest. But we’ll get middling and get neither a good run or a pick I’m sure 😢

My thoughts on suspensions are this:
If it appears your intent is to injure a player with a violent and illegal hit. In my opinion that player who is guilty should not be allowed to return until the injured player is allowed to return, plus one or two games. Why should the aggressor be allowed to play while the injured party is not (if the hit is deemed malicious and illegal).
Everyone is whining about a player being suspended for 8 games and forfeiting that much money. He tried to injure a player. Not a hockey play.
If the hit doesn't injure the player, in this case, Miro, then they should still get a minimum amount of games still. Players like him (goons), have no place in hockey. Go become a boxer or MMA fighter. Fighting in hockey should be a reactionary thing and not a strategy.
I think it has to be Roope for the shooting Star , as for Rempe I think the Rangers who are so desperate wanted Rempe to take out a Star so they should get a penalty as they lose nothing with him out maybe a loss of a top draft pick?
