Krebs hit on Kurashev – Tough Call Review
Peyton Krebs could have blown Phillip Kurashev right up. He had him served up on a silver platter by Tyler Bertuzzi’s pass. Even though Krebs decided to make a blatantly legal check without excessive force, Bertuzzi tried to fight him anyway. There was a pointless scrum and five penalties were called, including on Krebs for having to defend himself. Why can’t they ever just keep playing?

Wasn’t even that hard of a hit
Clean hit. Kurashev jumping in after Bertuzzi should have probably gotten a misconduct for being a bitch.
Like you said, "just a perfect check". But the NHL isn't going to punish teams for responding to a good check with goonery, so it will continue.
A controversial take by me maybe, but I don't really have a problem for teams sticking up for their teammates like this … I don't think it makes the league soft or not especially given the speed of the game and players having to make split second decisions. It doesn't really have anything to do with it being a good hit or not. Buffalo ended up on the powerplay because of it, as they should have … however, not sure why Krebs got 2min since he just got tackled by two guys and went down. Chicago probably should have been 2 men down. Thats just something coaching / players need to weigh the options of and what they want the character of their team to be… stick up for teammates and play man down or just play through the contact. I'm sure that Bertuzzi got an earful in the locker room for that suicide pass. If this was the playoffs where powerplays are so important, I doubt this hit gets that kind of reaction.
Nice review.
Dude could have ended his season.
It’s not like it was Conner Bedard that took a hit
