The rollercoaster season continues for the Canucks as they bounc back with a win over the high powered Avs. Kiefer Sherwood gets into the spotlight after a hat trick, so Matt and Blake get into the latest free agent signing to take the city by storm. The guys look at some of the other top performances as well, Miller and Pettersson included, and at a strange post game reaction from head coach Rick Tocchet. RInkWide Vancouver’s Jeff Paterson stops by to debrief what he saw from his chair, including the match up wins over guys like Makar and Mackinnon. Plus, Jeff takes the 30 game mark to take a bird’s eye view on a strange season that has yet to reveal exactly what this team is all about. Then it’s Cam Robinon from Elite Prospects with a look at the separation of Pettersson and Miller on the PP, an introduction to a little known Canucks prospect at the World Juniors, and Canada’s final roster configuration and what it means for Canucks draft pick Sawyer Mynio. All that, plus the guys wonder when the rest of the BC Lions staff will be announced, and the Whitecaps will have a different looking schedule next season.

I watched about 20 games from right beside the Nucks penalty box. Best seats ever. Warm ups were great, action was real, I ever interacted with the ref (Magoo took a brand new hat off the ice after a hat trick, I totally busted him and we had a good laugh).
As I said, best seats ever
They would probably have to take DeBrusk off the power play for the rest of the season for him to get overtaken by the star players in Vancouver. DeBrusk and Garland both want to shoot the puck, while a lot of star players are aren't either getting into good shooting positions or passing the pack when they are. Tocchet acted like he was late for a Christmas Party, which could have been all it was.
Matt, Blake is moving into his 6th decade not his 5th. He's already lived 5 decades.
We’re never going to a cashless society man, would be a terrible sign.
I don't want to see Petey moved, but, this was the worst decision I've seen the new regime make: 5th highest paid player in the NHL ???? That is rarified air, for Hart Trophy players; is Pettersson a Hart Trophy player? No, no, and no. He doesn't look like he ever would be, when compared to the best players in the NHL ahead of him now, let alone the potential younger players behind him coming up. WHY did they do this? The only reason I can see, is his agent threatened for him to walk, as per Calgary's Tkachuk, et al. But now we eat it, for a long long time, OR, yeah, Vancouver are FORCED to move him, due to their own decision to put themselves behind this 8-Ball… Such a strange decision by this management group, after all that great salary moves they've made so far.
