Lucas Raymond has literally never scored a big goal. He's never appeared in a playoff game. And doesn't seem likely to anytime soon, bc w him on 1st line w Larkin the team is terrible and going nowhere, and w Derek Lalonde coaching the team is terrible and going nowhere. Both of which futility producing things will continue.

Didn't think they looked that good really. Looked like a .500 team playing another mid team. The defense was there but the offense struggled for most of the game.
The thing is, they're starting to show more consistency across 60 minutes even if they falter at times. I just wish Lalonde would try better line combinations, maybe they'll mix it up when Kane gets back. And put Johansson and Chiarot together.
Can we talk about trading Kane yet?

Not sure I understand some comments. Calgary is a top team in their division. To me, Detroit had many, many scoring chances. Calgary, maybe 3 in the game. If the Wings go on a win streak they will be a top 3 team the same as any other team in this parity league. However, other teams in the league don't have as many scoring chances and empty net chances. The score tonight should of been 5-1 Detroit.
I think Seider + Ed have a chance to go down as one of the best pairings in Detroit history.
Seider this season – 50 blocks 60 hits, he could be the first player to have 200+ blocks/hits in consecutive seasons & generally the first player to ever do it twice

They’ve allowed 6 goals in 4 games. Team defense and goal tending have been good. Imagine if they had a better D Corps. When we get good defensive stops and transitions this roster can play offense. Holl and Johansson really are the only 2nd pair option given all we’ve seen so far. The majority of our issues are truly roster driven at the blue line. Can’t say enough good things about Simon and Mo. Big difference when they’re on the ice. Seider is activating more. I can’t emphasize how much we need to bring in another real d-man via trade. Petry and Gustafson can kick rocks imho.
This outfit can't score. Yzerman loses two offensive-minded defensemen, leaving us with a defense that has an offensive smell instead. Yikes!
Larkin making Larkin moves when he toss the puck with his hand during a face-off resulting in a minor penalty with four minuts left on the game. I would love to see him and Kane being traded for a top ten center.
I hope we can keep the OT games way down to have a better chance of grabbing a Wild Card.

Talbot is nasty this year….. so great to see our core players coming up big seemingly every game. Raymond is a point per game now and obviously a clutch player. Go Wings!

Like Mickey says, we need more guys in front of their net, distracting and blinding the goalie. So far only Ras is fulfilling that role and it isn't enough. Defense in this game was really solid- not perfect but very solid.

These better 5on5 games are because Kane is out of the lineup. Hes always hemmed in, and can’t consistently create offense. We need to trade or change him to an only PP guy

It was the first game this season that was (mostly) fun to watch, to be honest. They tried to protect the lead in the third and it got boring for a while, but overall it's the most enjoyable time I've had watching a game this year.

There were times when Ras would play net front in juniors. Hard for a regular sized human to move him when he's screening the goalie. He did fan on what should have been an easy backdoor slam dunk goal.
Maybe you guys should do a segment on how lousy Patrick Kane has been this season. Toss in Veleno as well.
