Vasily Podkolzin Trade 😮 Canucks were Wrong?

Vasily Podkolzin scored his third goal as an Edmonton Oiler on November 30, 2024, against the Colorado Avalanche. Podkozin set up in the crease for a beautiful deflection giving the Oilers the lead in late in the second period. The Oilers never looked back after that and played a strong team game against the Avalanche winning their third win in a row taking the game 4-1. If Podkolzin can keep trending up and contributing to the team’s success, the Vancouver Canucks will definitely regret trading him. Podkolzin will be a sure difference-maker in the Playoffs at this rate… Go Oilers…

  1. As a longtime Canucks fan, I wish Podkolzin much success as he finds his stride in the NHL. He was a very humble and hard-working hockey player; however, he just never found his total confidence and opportunity in Vancouver.

  2. lol plays with crysaitl and mccrybaby and gets 3 goals in like what 40 games? oil fans act like they won the trade! comedy writes itself

  3. Canucks fans are happy for Podkolzin. Good kid and works hard. But its funny how Oilers fans cling to things like this when the weather starts getting cold.

  4. Happy for podz. But the canucks weren’t “wrong” podz didn’t fit in the Rick Tocchet system, and never would have. And Vancouver is very much Rick’s teams going forward. It was best for the team, and for podz to give him a chance elsewhere. And hopefully he continues to make those steps, and has a fantastic career in Edmonton, or where ever he ends up!

  5. They traded Podz because they would have put him on waivers, where he is not exempt, after training camp. So they got a 4th instead of nothing. Edm gets to grab him instead of hoping someone else didn't with a higher priority.

  6. He is a better version of Brendan Gaunce. It's much better to have Sherwood, Heinen, and Debrusk instead.

  7. If he’s scoring 50 goals with the Oilers down the road then that’s your gain. He wasn’t doing that with the Canucks because he was never a fit in the top or bottom 6. The price the Canucks would pay for keeping him is to let him eat a roster spot for the whole season or lose him for nothing on waivers… lol

  8. Canucks weren't wrong sure he's okay but he is not going to be the player that Vancouver drafted so better to spend time on other potential draft.picka.
