in pee wee sports the teach you to play hard to the whistle i dont understand the lack of effort when the game is close. he either needs to sit a game or demoted to the third pairing and make him play hard to get back to where he was
not to many people are fans of Evan Bouchard
Id rather have a D man who can play Defense. He's playing his way into being worth less on the market, but for the 6 plus mill he ends up getting, I'd rather see 1-2 non spectacular but solid Real D men.
100% agree with u guys.. the eichel goal was lazy, and the gwg he was caught watching the puck again.. sure he had a double shift due to stretchers injury.. but..
"you just gotta get better and learn from it." Yes and no. For sure we learn from mistakes and get better. However, respectfully this is a trend with Bouch. At this point I think buddy needs a sit down or perhaps a bench for ONE game. Not only to send a message to himself, but the whole team in general as a wakeup call.

I want to see it again, but someone seemed to just pass the puck to a Vegas player in the Vegas zone when he wasn't under any pressure. Vegas scored the winning goal right after. Henrique? I don't know if anyone pointed that out. It looked brutal.
If they sign him to a big contract, anything over 6 a year, they'll regret that contract. And 6 million a year is probably high too. Never great at defense. And too many stupid mistakes and effortless games

This guy is so lazy and have no passion for the game. Skate and get in there. Like he have no power at times. And coaches don’t see. So pathetic. Looks at Florida Ds. They go straight in you. Eliminate every time you got the pucks.
Start of the season really is starting over again. It’s as though none of their past experience as hockey players means anything. It’s just the same mistakes every year.
Should trade Bouchard while his value is still high, Nurse can take over the point on pp. Should have traded Bouchard and kept Broberg and Ceci from the start.
He is NOT a good defensiveman!! You could replace him with a forward and have offensive success. He is a complete joke, and they NEVER hold him accountable. He always acts hard done by when HE is the problem! Nurse isn't good but he's more serviceable in some ways. Bouchard routinely takes shots that are blocked by the guy directly in front of him so even offensively he's just dumb! It's really gross the opportunities he has been handed while Broberg was left to walk with zero genuine opportunity in the organization. I hope both Broberg and even Noah Dobson (who was picked right after him) prove that they ARE better players because he has been given way too much time to develop and he is way too old to be this trash!
Did he? ……. He's been underperforming significantly—unable to read the game, missing chances to shoot, and often losing the puck in the offensive zone. His positioning errors and slow defensive movement have been costly, as seen in the first and third goals by Vegas. Right now, his contributions are minimal, and it's hard not to see him as a liability.
This guy always been like this even in playoff games when he first started playing I noticed yeah it’s nice. He has a good shot but honestly, there’s no heart for the game. It seems like.
YES, BENCH BOUCHARD !!!! But I would rather trade him ……. His offensive skill does NOT out weigh his defensive issues. The Oilers have enough fire power up front. They NEED Defense !!!!!

Coffey won't bench him. I honestly think he's adopted Bouchard as his second son! Bouchard is hardly ever dialled in. In fact, none of the defence is communicating with each other. And, who are you going to replace him with? They traded Gleason away, so now you have no one.
That was a terrible game from Bouchard. Eichel goes from being 10 feet behind Evan to 25 feet in front of Evan… zero effort on that play, and the game winner by Hanifin is equally terrible. He literally did nothing on that goal either. Just terrible.
The Oilers have these moments of complete breakdown that just annihilate the team's morale and the will of the players that actually give a damn to continue to push. Evan and Nuge were massive culprits in the VGK game. Evan needs to finally grow up and apply his awareness to the defensive side of the puck, not just the offensive side. Nuge needs to finally show up, and show that he still knows how to play hockey.
Most of the team deserves to be benched.

He's never had defensive urgency and most people have been saying this for the past year or 2. He's always skating in the upright position and rarely bends his knees to pump his legs when needed.
Last season was the Oilers only shot to win the cup, I'm a lifelong Oilers fan, but I can see the writing on the wall. At this stage, if they even make the playoffs at all, they're playing like a first round exit team.

Ekholm usually makes up for some of Bouchard's deficiency's. When Ekholm makes a mistake, which all players do at times, it leads to chaos. It basically like playing with 4 forwards.

Bouchard needs to get his head into the game if he wants to play long term and collect a big pay cheque. Scoring goals is one thing, but your plus minus needs attention as well. Take some lessons from Makar !
