  1. Have to see him play first he can’t replace Savard or Matheson. He’s a six or seven at best. How many NHL games, 50???? Still not a proven NHLer.

  2. I'm liking the Carrier trade especially because he's truly excited about being a Canadien and ya gotta like that. The timing was spot on as it gives the Habs some runway for a Savard trade leading up to the playoffs. However consider this, if the Habs can go on a bit of a run in the new year and they can get within sniffing distance of a wild card spot and Savard is enjoying the revitalised team culture, he may want to stick around to see what happens. A guy that blocks shots like he does is gold and is that veteran presence they need with a young D corps. As usual, thanks guys.

  3. I did the math on the career point per game % and they literally both come up at 0.28 points a game , so we traded up, cuz he more solid in our zone and offers the same quality in there zone . I’m happy with it

  4. I trust Kent, but 3.75M for 2 more years is significant. He's not a top pair guy. 5th D? Do you really want to go to battle with him? But I trust Kent. And this also means that Savard will be traded or not re-signed. Both RD and you maintain the self imposed heritage quota.

  5. I don't want to be a jerk but aside from Savard's reliable 1st pass, and shot blocking, he's a really bad skater, and he is often confused about whether to pickup the puck carrier or guard the net, and he often mskes the wrong choice. And as RD he is often to the left of the mext for a lot of goals against.

  6. Savard stays, and Matheson goes at deadline unless the offer for Savard is too high to pass on then both will go.

  7. should have kept Kovacevic in the off season and trade Barron instead. Kovacevic is bigger and arguably better than Carrier.

  8. Let's trade Matheson at the deadline and get something good for him. Get a good draft. We have many dmen to develop. Matheson is having a terrible year. Probably looks at Hudson and wonders how does he do that ??.

  9. My prediction is Savard is going at the deadline, regardless of the situation of the team standings, this will provide the room for Reinbacher or Mailloux may the best man win.

  10. I like that HuGo seem to ALWAYS be evaluating and assessing with MSL what they have, where what they have can get to and what they need. Don't get married to a trade or draft pick – if the correct move is to go in a different direction than they originally thought, identify the best targets and go get them. I like too that the team's performance from this point on should offer some better D-zone coverage and better 2nd line play. Each coming around more slowly than hoped, but probably at realistic pace and Laine getting up to his optimum level. Promises to be an exciting 51 games ahead.

  11. Trading Savard or keeping Savard…..or even resigning him (if he wants to stay and is willing to accept a relatively inexpensive deal) all depends on how the team is going to play in the upcoming weeks. The post Christmas schedule is going to be a tough one, but if somehow the Canadiens manage to win a decent percentage of these games, then they actually are going to be in the mix. Having our young players experience what it means to play important games that matter is more valuable than any late first round pick (or worse) we could get as a return for Savard IMO. We want the team to evolve and that means having a winning culture. There's a point in every reconstruction where finishing last all the time is more important than anything, but if you never make sure that you give your young players a chance to learn what it takes to to play games that truly matter, then you are just likely to end up being like the Buffalo Sabres.

  12. I think that you guys are overestimating Savard's value in a trade at this point of his career. At best, he would garner a late 3rd rounder, perhaps more likely a 4th rounder. For that return, it is better to keep Savard and re-sign him for another year.

  13. Carrier – 245 parties dans la LNH
Guhle – 114 parties dans la LNH
Xhekaj – 123 parties dans la LNH
Carrier a 28 ans, juste pour comparaison :
Savard a 28 ans 536 parties dans la LNH
Metheson a 28 ans 462 parties dans la LNH
Vétéran oui et non pour être honnête. Il faut mettre les choses en perspective.
    Sorry for the french comment.
