The Moose slide continued after a less than successful road trip away from Manitoba which saw the AHL club of Winnipeg lose two more games in Alberta and then two more in British Columbia to get swept back home. In total this team is now winless in eight games (0-7-0-1). While that’s bad it’s worth remembering this same club got mired in an 11 game winless streak during the 2023-24 campaign but got things turned around sufficiently to make a playoff push and qualify for the play-in series. Perhaps luckily enough this team has gone though it earlier so perhaps they can get back on track earlier than they did last year.
Today was supposed to be an off day after the team travelled home on Sunday from Abbotsford but the coaching staff made the decision to skate today instead. Despite all the losing there is still plenty to talk about regarding this team including injury updates on Jets prospects Elias Salomonsson and Danny Zhilkin, captain Dominic Toninato who unavailable for their last game and more.
