Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Tucson Roadrunners, 12.16

The San Diego Gulls were shut out 2-0 by the Tucson Roadrunners on Monday night in a hard-fought game. Tucson struck early in the first period with Sam Lipkin’s goal, assisted by Aku Räty and Ben McCartney, and extended their lead in the third when Austin Poganski scored just 48 seconds in, with helpers from Kailer Yamamoto and Cameron Hebig. Despite playing a disciplined game and limiting Tucson to one power play, the Gulls couldn’t capitalize on their three man-advantage opportunities. They’ll look to bounce back in their next home game at Pechanga Arena, where fans will be eager to cheer them on.
