Seriously? Do you even watch the games? These guys turn the puck over all the time. Can’t start a breakout and ice the puck constantly. They aren’t even close to the best d pair in the league. That’s laughable and pure homerism.
Mo is a known quantity and Edvinsson needs to prove himself for more than a couple of months before he's regarded as one of the best pairings in the league,

I think you are trying to force positives where there really aren't any. Yeah seider n ed do decently defensively. But in terms of carrying the play out of their zone. No chance. The entire team cant get out of their zone with any grace. No cohesion anywhere. The entire team is lost or broken.
The only positive you can draw from this team so far is Raymond. Point per game pace, few mistakes. Budding superstar.
Red Wings plus/minus is – 17 which is terriable. They need to be split up, if someone is in front of the net neither guy does anything. They stand around. I see all it all the time.

Does it really matter knowing that this team isn't a contender? Who cares, right? If these players are as good as these podcasters say, prove it by winning games. To me, it doesn't matter how good somebody thinks a player is. If the team isn't winning, it doesn't matter. You don't win the Cup when podcasters or pundits like these say how good some players are when the team can't win. These podcasters are either desperate to get attention with more of an audience, or they're just straight up in denial just like the rest of the Mo Seider fan club.
So here, you have these podcasters ripping on the other players, which they have a point in doing so, but Mo Seider isn't the messiah of defensemen in the NHL either. Quit defending who you think is great, yet the team keeps losing. This is a team sport, so start talking like podcasters who are serious about winning, not about statistics. Do I have to keep saying it? Cale Makar can run circles around Mo Seider. I like Edvinnson, but he'll need more time to determine what his real worth is. Seider has blown so many assignments in the past couple of seasons, yet these guys, especially the bald podcasters, continues to put Seider above everybody. Give me a break, Brian Fisher. Look at the footage or tape of when Seider blew it for the Wings. Get off your soap box about Seider already.
Annoying conversation. Advanced stats give people tunnel vision. The Wings are right in the middle of the league in goals against and their goalies have done well partly because there have been many nights when the overall team defense is quite good. The only problem is that it's a survival mode style of defense that requires all 5 players to run around and do anything necessary to just chip the puck out.
Isn't it fascinating that no other team needs to deploy their best and worst players like this? Do you really think there's such amazing 3rd pair defensemen on every other team? Has Albert Johansson looked bad enough to be sheltered in the few games he plays? Do you ever stop to consider how much these stats are impacted by the team structure?
Seider and Edvinsson get stuck in the defensive zone too, and struggle just as much to make creative and effective plays that break this team out and into the offensive zone. This is all coaching. It's Lalonde who taught this team to just throw the puck around the boards instead of looking for an open man. It's Lalonde putting Petry on the second pair. It's Lalonde choosing not to trust Gustafsson and Johansson with a few more minutes.
What? Do you watch the games? They are two of the only players on the team that consisntly get the puck out of the DZ and transition to offense. The statistics back this up. And you want to know what Dmen lead the league in give aways? Weegar, Hamilton, Karlsson. Seider is 101st in give aways this year amongst dmen.
