  1. Why wouldn’t Kaapo potentially be on the move? Scratched and now playing 10 minutes a night.

  2. Colby Cohen has zero personality. Like get to the point dude seriously. And Kaplan is infinitely more credible than you two. Cohen will strongly imply something and then say NO I DIDNT SAY THAT yeah but you implied it donkey

  3. Here's the thing that keeps nagging at my brain:

This team's regression from attention to details, refusal to work the fundamentals ( in all zones), awful turnovers/giveaways and not being prepared ( or maybe focused??):

…has been a problem with our Rangers Core Group ( Kreider, Zibanejad, Fox, Lindgren, Miller, Panarin…etc): for five seasons, three Head Coaches ( and coaching staffs).

This is a Core group that ran Gallant out of town, claiming because they needed a more hands-on teaching and instructive coaching staff.

So in comes Laviolette and his staff. Which seemed to work well, last season.

But the Rangers, as they did against the Devils in 2022-23: not only ran into strong, talented cohesive teams; but the Rangers once again stopped working the details/fundamentals.

The Rangers barely made it pass the Hurricanes, this past post-season. For the same exact reasons.

I do believe, realistically speaking: the accountability goes to the players, the coaching staffs and Drury. All of the above.

There's no legitimate reason for a lack of respectful communication: whether you're a professional athlete, a white collar or blue collar worker; poor communication and lack of respect from upper management and Supervisors: has always been a destructive element.

Listening to Kakko talk about how the coaching staff scratched him, but Laviolette ( no one on the coaching staff) had a productive, instructive conversation regarding the parts of his game he needs to improve on; is mind-boggling. I don't understand. Makes no sense.

But Kakko making those secondary statements: absolutely proves there's dysfunctional, counter-productive problems in the room…

…between the players, the coaching staff and with Drury.

It makes me wonder if all this drama and crazy nonsense: is intentional.

Because this Core has a long history of simply ignoring the details / fundamentals in big post-season games/ series; then pointing their fingers at the coaching staffs ( i.e. Quinn, Gallant and now Lavi).

I don't know. Just sharing my observations and theories…based on what I have seen.

  4. So interesting listening about the inside of hockey, but the problem of the team not wanting physicality by the coach goes unquestioned. His non usage of Rempe which fans enlarge agree he is a weapon not being used. You talked about the coach but kindly let him off for his failures. The coach has not won since 2006 and was out coached in the playoffs and so on and so forth…

  5. It's Christmas in New York. Every time your bell gets rung, your playoff position takes a hit. Fire Laviolette, the fans deserve better. Good luck Rangers fans. I like trade Krider and play Cuylle top 6 and believe in development. Drury did draft well, and you have the tools to be in the playoffs. Good luck, NYC, and Merry Christmas. 🎄

  6. Laying it out. Season ticket holder for over 20 years. I want Messier hired as team president and Quenneville as head coach. I'll trust their hockey knowledge and leadership over Drury any day of the week

  7. No, as a former collegiate athlete who's been in player only meetings etc, when you feel wrong has been done, and the majority of the team of the shares the feeling. Details and attention to the game, go out the window. You listen to the coach you see the issues, but its not your focus. The ONLY ways this gets resolved is 1: Drury leaves, 2: the players with the problems get moved. Their minds are too distracted with this and consumed by it. Look, they have a cup team, and they don't care, several of these guys are close the end of their career, they will die on principle.

  8. This is like the BS democratic take on the Rangers. Rupp and Colby sticking up for the players who have checked out on the organization because they are a bunch of soft babies. When the majority of outlets, the Republican side, are calling out the players as deserved. We all know the Democrats have been in the minority since Nov 5th so makes total sense.

  9. First, Kakko will never be "north of 50 points" let alone 80. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong but I have no more expectations with this guy.
Second, he had many chances to play on the top lines (Sorry Mike, Kakko got his opportunities and you forgot about that) in N.Y. before and showed only one thing i.e. that he can't finish or even make his linemates better by making great passes.
I would be very surprised if he would finally become a "star" in this league with another team and frankly, as a Rangers fan, it would piss me off if he did.
That being said I learned nothing from this podcast after 34 minutes.
Call me when you decide to tell it like it is i.e. that it looks like yet another mutiny from the players as we have seen time and time again in the past in pro sports.
I watch all the games of the Rangers (I know, I'm a bit hard on myself) and nobody will convince me that these players have suddenly forgot how to play competitive hockey and that it is a coaching problem or whatever excuse they come up with.
You can beat around the bush all day long but it's obvious that the Rangers, as a group, have checked out.
Maybe they will check back in but it looks unlikely at this point.

  10. Why does Mika always glide around instead of hauling ass? Enough with the Zoro stick checking too. Take the body!
