Michael Rasmussen was leading the 2007 Tour de France after Stage 16 by more than three minutes but was removed from the race by his team due to a whereabouts scandal, with no mountain stages remaining. Rasmussen began his career as a mountain biker, winning world championships before transitioning to road cycling, where he became one of the strongest Grand Tour riders and climbers of the 2000s. In this podcast, he shares the story of his career.

Excellent work and great insight. Rasmussen reached exceptional levels. History will slant things differently however the knowledge he gained through pushing the way he did make his experiences racing the greatest races valid.
Great interview thanks Watt Police and Michael. Highlight 39:45 Up until that very point…the team knew everything…supporting this for so many years
I loved watching Micheal Rasmussen, very few guys dared to attack from afar so seeing him win stages in the Tour was VERY entertaining. I was so happy to see him in yellow and it was very tragic, messy, weird, inhumane when it was the teamsponsor who pulled the support for Micheal so late in the Tour he would have won. He was literally thrown under the bus by the people who supported him up until that moment. Him becoming an outcast shows how nasty the game of cycling can be. Much respect and love to Micheal for standing tall when the whole world is out for your scalp. Thanks very much for the interview, good to see Micheal has not changed 🙂
Rasmussen looks like an Uncharted villain
Brilliant interview and as an ex road racing cyclist myself, funny he too not on electric gears, although I do use disc brakes. I remember watching on TV all those stages Rasmussen won and came close to winning. To think cycling is now clean is a farce. So called training techniques don't change humans nor power
nahhhh how did you pull this gem ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
5:29 Andrle (Israel DS) said that Froome even this year attempted some 'diets' for weight loss in February Rwanda camp. He actually pushed decent early season numbers, but his caloric deficit eventually made him complaining during Tour of Rwanda of being super fatigued
Then he also broke his wrist during Tirreno and probably just gave up during May on his chances for selection to TDF 😂
