GREAT Win Tonight!!
love what you said early Jay, Sorensen has unlocked some kind of fight within this group from top to bottom that just has not been present for (at minimum) this entire season.
They aren’t just giving up anymore when they’re down a goal or two. Even when they lost against NYI, there was still fight in them, trying to keep the game competitive until all 60 were gone.
—Tonight they trailed 2-0 for 27:32 straight, but they didn’t just throw in the towel and resign themselves to their fate of losing 3-0 with yet another ENG.
I kind of hope Sorensen plainly told them they’ve been giving up with regularity and how unacceptable that is moving forward.
After living in DC for 6 years, this win is even better for me. Caps fans are amongst the worst fans I've had to deal with. Let's Go Hawks!
We were hemming them in in period 2 like crazy. This game could have been 6-2
Brodie still sucks. Also, they definitely weren't in control for 55 minutes. But a solid 40!
Always grateful for the post game show when I have to work during the game! But I have loved a lot of what Sorensen has gotten out of these guys. He is putting these guys in a position to succeed by playing to their strengths. They are not a slow team, but Luke had them playing like it and enforced that they must always be defense-first instead of attack first. Even if you lose the game this way, at least you're finally scoring some goals and making the games exciting. The 2-1 losses are just boring and depressing, sometimes I'd rather they lost 6-5 as long as it was a fun game.
