Im a Ranger fan….im 100% against sitting kakko down and trading him, a total failure by the management!!! But Kakko will be in the lineup today against the predators
He gets criticized a lot from other teams’ fans. But I watch him play? He’s real damn good. What a mess.
Mika & Kreider get a free pass but one of the few kids actually giving a damn…scratched. No sense
He's just a draft bust. Same as Vitaly Kratsov or Lias Andersson.
Play rempe !
Detroit will take him
For the second time in weeks, Rangers are playing the team in the NHL cellar. After losing to Chicago, is it any surprise to see people betting Rangers will lose again?
Kakko at #2 isn't a draft bust, and the Rangers never had a chance on Hughes…but Seider went #6 and one has to wonder what he might have done for a soft defense.
Don't understand why underperforming players aren't being sat as healthy scratches, and Hartford players called up. At least they'd give 100% effort, actual hits, real fights.
Could we do any worse than the last dozen games?
More points than kreider and a +10 to Mika’s -15. Franchise is an utter disgrace
Typically, players sit when a trade is in play. Do they not?
I remember Kaapo’s little Brother, not-to-subtly saying that they would rather go to New York, than New Jersey. Well, wish granted little bro. It would be absolutely WILD if NJ orchestrated a trade for Kakko, and he became an absolute monster in NJ.
I think kaapo will look great in a blues uniform
Kakko has done nothing for the team.
Kakko pleyed center for a game or 2 and play sooooo much better than Mika. It baffles me how the rangers mishandled kaako potential
Drury sucks
Kakko is playing well. Drury is a cancer to the organization. He’s gotta be fired immediately.
Rangers fan, im on kakkos side 100% here. This organization is being criminally mismanaged and coached.
Drury killed this team with his treatment of the players…..wont change until he is gone
Get rid of Mika and Kreider and watch Laffy and Kakko turn into super stars in 1 month lol
Leggo make sure you pronounce it correctly. It"s Neew Yoorkkerrs. The up yours is silent. 🤔The city so great. The locals have to mumble it twice for the looters from out of town to stop hijacking there spray painted Chevy van . Cappice! LOL Go Red Wings and yes they are better than the deaRangereers.
Kakko is a veteran now. This is his 6th season. There is nothing that stands out about him. Takes too many lazy penalties. He's an average 3rd line player riding Cuylle's coattails. He's the same player he was 6 years ago.
I've been a Ranger fan since 1988 and it is pathetic how this franchise treats its youth. Blaming Kakko in this mess is ludicrous. He's played very well; he isn't a number 2 pick in a redraft, of course not, but he's not a bad player at all. Kakko should smile, though, because he's going to join the long and growing list of players this franchise pisses away who go on to lift the Stanley Cup elsewhere.
He got scratched bc there are trades in the works
Guys need to quit being on the rag and earn their $, or sit them and let some young guns some time to eat. Guaranteed more effort, i'd bet.
Let Kakko get traded to Florida. Watch how fast he becomes a 2nd or 3rd line player for them
Lifelong Rangers fan here. This team top to bottom, is guilty of all the carnage that is happening, from egos to feelings, from upper management out in the open wheeling & dealings, from the elders play 5 on 5 to the coaches not holding the deserving players accountable. This team is failing us & more disgracefully, they're failing Sam Rosen.
I have been enamored with Kakko's style of play all along. He is just what you need in the playoffs, he's big & strong around the boards, he can protect the puck well & he does the dirty work when no one's paying attention. Yes he can still work on his game & improve more, but the foundation is solid.
If they move him…I'm over & done with this team's hierarchy. Dolan needs to roll heads out of here this season. I can't watch this team flounder in miserable play the rest of this season.
✌️💀💙🗽❤️🏒🥅
Zab has a game with like 3 horrendous turn overs in a game leading to goals by opposing team. He should be traded away 1st. Washed up.
So you bench a guy who has been +10 and one of the better two-way forwards on the team for what reason?? This team is an absolute dumpster fire.
wake up Kaapo! They want you to hustle the entire shift. That is why you're being sat. Give a sh*t.
I mean, Mikko loves playing along other Finnish Players……………..
When kakko was out on a line with Mika and Chris, they both never passed to him when he was open. He has become a pass first player because that's how the team treated him. Taken off pp2 for no reason. He keeps the puck on his stick and in the offensive zone. Yet king turnover miller gets pp time.
4 goals in 34 games 2.2 millions really hahahahaha 😂
It may be time for Drury to go.
Problem with this team is with ownership and front office.
Kakko, for the duration of his tenure here has never been given a fair shake. It makes no sense. They preach about defensive responsibility, an area he thrives, yet never put in a position to succees offensively. his down years were when he was saddled with pure garbage to help on offense. Years where Chytil was hurt. He's great at possessing the puck and when paired with someone that can finish, or given power play time, he would thrive on offense as well.
Instead, they tried him out as the RW1 but when the line didn't produce they put all sorts of crap for extended periods next to Kreider and Mika. I mean they played Vesey there. Vatrano, Smith, a bunch of 3rd line wingers. Never succeeding at 5v5. And instead of ever thinking that maybe the issue was not the person put on the line with Kreider and Mika, but rather the issue was Kreider and Mika themselves, it was Kakko scapegoated time and again. They are so jaded by Kreider and Mika's production on the PP that they ignored the fact that they have been horrific 5v5 for years now, ever since they idiotically gave away Buchnevich (a player with a similar style as Kakko BTW).
The Rangers under Drury have been a dumpster fire that was masked by their success even though underlying numbers always showed it would not last. This year everything has fallen apart and they need to start at the top, strip the parts of this team other than the young Bones of Laff, Shesty and Fox, and build it over again.
So this guy thinks he's above being a healthy scratch? This league is crawling with Kakko's, the only difference, those players were picked further down in the draft and not at #2. He is average at best and in hindsight is a bust given where he was drafted. The expectations of some fans has really dropped when we are begging for this guy to be in the lineup. Ridiculous.
Hmm. A threat like that who could thrive in the right environment. Definitely don't send him to Toronto, Montreal, Boston or even Buffalo. Preferrably send him out West where he will be less of a pain for you if he takes off. What is a west coast team who is hurting for healthy forwards, is still potentially a contender, but might be in a buying mood, has a drafted and developed talent well and could send some assets with big potential returns, and also would be on the hunt for a defensively responsible forward who might shore up some weaker goaltending (goaltending that might be so bad they replaced their starter and backup in an eight day period)? Certainly a highly touted prospect who has struggled to cement their place on a team isn't something Joe Sakic would be interested in. I mean, did it work out gambling on Val Nichushkin and Devon Toews (okay maybe a little bit of a stretch, but I am sure Isles fan might like to take that trade back)? Certainly the Avs couldn't be a potential trade target could they?
