  1. It might help if Lindy Ruff could persuade ownership to follow what he saw with the Devils. Missing the playoffs for many years, NJ was not attractive to many players who don't know much about the market other than what they see on the bus from the airport or from the hotel in NYC, but Tom Fitzgerald has been fortunate to have a strong organization that helps sell NJ as a destination. They provide quality facilities and treatment for their players. They show free agents there are many good places to live in North Jersey. It's taken some years, but I would feel confident guess that NJ is on many fewer No Trade lists than they were 5 or 10 years ago. Winning really does help, as Shannon pointed out.

  2. It’s an absolute joke with this team man every single year for 10 years now I watch 90% of the games, go to 5-6 a year and get excited just to have the same result, I will not watch them anymore after this season till Terry Pegula is gone he’s the root of the problem he doesn’t care at all

  3. I don't think Eichel wanted to stay. The story in Buffalo was that Adams wanted to do another rebuild/retool and that Eichel wanted no part of it. When Adams first took the GM job is when this allegedly happened. That's also the summer when Adams signed Reinhart to a one-year deal (a second bridge deal instead of going for a long term contract). So at the end of that season, Reino felt slighted and wanted to part of re-signing with the team. Once that was set in motion, the teardown was inevitable.

  4. The problem with Adam's trade history is that he has traded the best player in every single one of those trades. That doesn't mean the value has been bad in the return, but being a bottom feeder for another season is directly from losing talent and replacing it with inferior talent.

  5. I think they would have beat Toronto the other day if the refs didn’t slow them down with a couple really selectively timed calls.

  6. Fire Adams, promote Lindy to GM. (Unless he can bring some attitude like he used to play with)Bring a new coach in to see if they can get a spark somehow like it happens all the time for other teams. If that fails, start moving some overrated defensemen before other teams figure that out. People like to complain about goalies and not scoring enough but they flat out stink in the D zone.

  7. Shoutouts to Sabres fans, you guys are real ones. I went to Buffalo for Sabres/Jets with no rooting interest and had a great time.

  8. I think my biggest frustration as a fan with Kevyn Adams has largely been his inaction. I think the offseason after we missed by one point, that was their chance to try and sell guys on what they were building and add to it. Instead, they ran it back with much of the same core and ended up regressing. He believes in the young core they've built, but its almost to a fault. Then this past offseason, fans were clamoring for them to make a big move for the top 6. It's a lot harder to try and make that move now in-season, when a significant amount of damage has been done.

  9. I feel for the Buffalo fans who have supported the team for this long, seriously you all have my admiration and upmost respect, I'm almost hoping you beat my habs tomorrow

  10. It's not economics…but it is economics…why pay for this shit???
14 years??? …when they were winning the presidents trophy challenging for the Eastern conference the Hockey News called Buffalo the new Hockey Town a la Detroit…if the Sabres were any kind of good the building would be packed…not even a question

  11. New York not so good in hockey this year. Sabres, Rangers, maybe the Islanders are the best New York team???

  12. It’s been like what? A 12 year drought. That’s crazy, some teams have gone from rebuilding to contenders, back to rebuilding and moved to contenders again within that time frame. And then you have Buffalo who have gone from rebuilding, to not lottery pick, to rebuilding to blowing it up, and then to rebuilding.
That’s so devastating because they truly are a team that has a passionate fan base and really good history.
I’d love to see them in the playoffs and push out the bruins or bolts. As a leaf fan I’d love it even more because those Buffalo Vs Toronto games are always fun and electric.

  13. I always said since own powers got signed his elc he made a huge mistake sure he’s getting paid but with buffalo he’ll never win a cup. He should’ve just used that college loop hole

  14. But I thought the new roof and scoreboard were gonna help us win……if only they could grow palm trees and lower taxes we would be fine.

  15. I know it was a fairly long video. But was lindy ruff's name even mentioned once? 😮

  16. Instead of talking about who is there and who has left to have success elsewhere, why don't they look into how they practice, what do they do off ice for training, etc. Are the players more interested in the lifestyle (drinking and chasing women) than they are in improving their game? Does Kevyn Adams and his scouts know all the players in the NHL/AHL to be able to upgrade via waivers, trades and free agents? There's more to building a team than high draft picks, and flashy, young, skilled players – work ethic and professionalism from the top down is required.

  17. The over-arching problem with Buffalo is they cannot defend. If they could just stop the puck consistently, the entire Buffalo narrative would be completely different.

  18. It gets to a point where you have to (again) re-evaluate the core players and ask if this is the core that works? Is Tage a legit 1C who can lead charge? Maybe consider moving him to really shake things up?

Dylan Cozens can be an elite player. The skill he has can be unreal, but here he is again having another down season. Mentally fragile? Because his lack of production is all mental at this point. Do you move him now?? But then you have the risk of him exploding on another team…

There’s a ton of questions you can ask and there isn’t an answer to really fix the Sabres. They don’t want to trade anyone else which is understandable, but maybe the mix and mash of the core players simply doesn’t work yet again…

  19. I see in the comments that I'm not first to mention this but god f*&^%$$g dammit, Eichel requested a trade before he got injured. The dispute over the surgery makes perfect sense if you put it into the actual context. I really thought you were better than this but I guess I was wrong.

  20. I would have fired adams for the palm trees comments. That's loser mentality and bad for morale – tells the players maybe they're not his first choice.

  21. Feels like every year we are saying “somethings gotta give/change” for buffalo and then something does happen but nothing actually changes.
