Liljegren for picks is the ideal situation.
We still need to move 2 forwards as well if we're keeping Patches and Lorentz

YES YES YES thank god! I have been asking for years why he was in the lineup. He is getting paid $2million too much. Finally a coach that doesn't mess around and base the lineup on feelings.
The Leafs will probably need to add a "sweetener" to move Liljegren.
When they signed him for $3 million a year I was utterly shocked. Worst contract this year , let’s hope he can figure it out and stay consistent

Good luck trading him and not eating some of that 3 mill per or giving up a draft pick for someone to take him. Terrible signing.

Lillegran has talent for sure, but he doesn’t fit. with the new Leafs I’m glad Timmins is staying.
I NEVER knew what the Leafs FO saw in Sandin & Lilegren to hold onto them for so long, especially Lily. He’s not physical, he’s not an elite skater, not a hard shot, doesn’t handle the puck well.

Robertson on 4th line is A huge waste.
Liljegren is still a useful player so if he doesn't make the roster it's a good thing (not for him, I know). That means they finally have some defensive depth, where incumbent players can be pushed out of the lineup through competition.
These contracts that Treliving made have been terrible. Liljegren, 3million, Kampf 2.4 million. He signed Klingberg 4m he's not very smart with signings

Liljegren could be dealing with an injury or they might want a heavier lineup with possible fireworks expected in Montreal. I think Leafs want to make sure they are ready to push back if needed.
