  1. Berggren must be frustrated that Lalonde will randomly put him on the 4th line after getting nothing but praise for his effort so far this season

  2. Bruins jersey again. Why do you subject your subscribers to this??
With a -20 goal differential they are this year’s Washington Capitols.

  3. Hmmm… The Colorado Avalanche had an 8 game winning streak in their "Inaugural Season".

If they are going to count this as Utah's inaugural season, then every team's records should start from when they are moved. (Not that I really want Colorado to lose their Quebec history, was just more of making a point.)

  4. So many "records" are pretty meaningless. The Coyot….ooops, my bad, the Utah Hockey Club being the latest.

  5. Ovi is the 'Chuck Norris' of the NHL. I once saw a replay of him taking an errant puck to the side of the jaw while standing up at the bench, then shook it off like it was nothing
They don't make crazy Russian men like Ovi anymore. So I'm not surprised that he's ahead of schedule with his recovery 😅😅😅

  6. Utah Hockey Club: The only "Expansion" team in NHL history to never have an actual Expansion draft, at least to my knowledge.

  7. As I joked when Wahlstrom was on waivers; I said Sweeney would pick him up because he's a local boy. Being a Bruins GM is so easy: scout HockeyEast and local talent, and call it a day.

  8. Thanks for the video! Cheap shot fines should start high ($50K) and double with repeat offenses. Drop the gloves if you want to go after someone. When the fines get into the millions, the cheap shots will end. Wahlstrom is a feel good claim. We'll see if it helps. Oh, good, the Islanders will be stronger versus the Blackhawks. I wonder if the Blackhawks can get another early lead to give up. Good for Mrazek. Bolts need a break. Huzzah for MacKinnon and Utah!

  9. Hi Shannon, I love your videos and have been a long time subscriber and fan of your work!! I know you plan your videos in advance but I’d love to see you rank the top 10 forward lines so far this season in a video! Thanks for all you do!!

  10. I'd love to see more of that out of Johnny Burgers, if he could add some sandpaper to his game, it would go a long way to keeping him in the national

  11. Weren't the Avs considered an expansion team when they moved from Quebec? The Rockies had been gone for many years at that point.

  12. The Vancouver media keeps telling us the Canucks are an elite team. Their highest paid player, Elite Pete just dominated the Boston Bruins last night….lol

  13. I’m happy for you utah.
It seems that after we called up that new goalie from our AHL affiliate Things have turnaround in a positive way… we don’t have a problem putting points on the board, and now we have a goalie who doesn’t let many in.
( also wondering if these players are playing to their highest caliber since they are now treated like the professional athletes they deserve to always have been treated but Phoenix could not do that…So it’s like a rebirth for everybody

  14. 5:50 It's interesting: I actually wondered what if the NHL-WHA merger had gone like the NFL-AFL merger, where the AFL became the AFC and needed only a few NFL teams added to balance them. The WHA teams absorbed were far fewer, but I figure we could've ended up with a National Hockey Conference and a World Hockey Conference if some things had played out differently.

So in 1979, conferences I figure with the 21 teams would neatly fit the then 11 teams from the Surviving Six (not Original–don't erase numerous early teams) and the 1967 expansion for the NHC, with the subsequent expansion teams joining WHA clubs in the WHC as follows:

    NHC
East: Boston, Montreal, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Toronto
West: Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minnesota, St. Louis

    WHC
East: Buffalo, Hartford, New York Islanders, Quebec, Washington
West: Atlanta*, Colorado, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg
*Recall that Atlanta moved to Calgary within a year, anyway, which fits perfectly.

If we assume teams locked to their conferences as the NFL's teams have, along with movement and expansion teams exactly the same, then we could've ended up with these conferences and divisions along the timeline:

    1982-83
East: Boston, Montreal, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Toronto

West: Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minnesota, St. Louis

    WHC

East: Buffalo, Hartford, New Jersey*, New York Islanders, Quebec, Washington

    West: Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg
    *Thanks, Mickey Mouse.

East: Hartford, New Jersey, New York Islanders, Washington

I also like to imagine a 4×4 alternative to the most recent realignment:
    NHC
    North: Boston, Detroit, Montreal, Toronto
Atlantic: New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay
Central: Chicago, Minnesota, St. Louis, Winnipeg
Southwest: Anaheim, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles

    WHC
Northeast: Buffalo, Ottawa, New Jersey, New York Islanders
Southeast: Carolina, Columbus (like the nearby Colts in NFL, haha), Florida, Washington
South: Colorado, Nashville, Phoe-Glen-Ari-tah, San Jose
    Northwest: Calgary, Edmonton, Seattle, Vancouver
