Jett Alexander became the latest College student to get a chance to play in the NHL. The Leafs were winning 7-1 over the Montreal Canadiens, when Sheldon Keefe decided to let Alexander play the last 70 seconds of the game. Alexander celebrated with his Leaf teammates for the day, but the feel-good story quickly changed. When Canadiens defenseman, Chris Wideman felt the Leafs gesture was a slap in the face.

19 year streak broken 🎉🎉🎉
Haha looks who made to the second round. Where's Montreal
I was at that game
Lmao we proved his shitty team wrong anyways
His comment didn’t age well 💀
Safe to say Wideman was wrong
I think they should have kept him benched, unless they were loosing then yeah that's fine.
No it wasn’t they gave a young man a chance to do his dream
THE LEAFS WON VS TAMPA
This is truly kind to the youngster
Why you look like your about to bust a nut
Who’s here when the leafs won a series 😂
in almost every other sport, when the game is won like this, teams will pull their best players to 1. keep them from getting injured, and 2. to help the backups have actual practice in the big leagues
Why is my recommendations full of The Leafs ☠️☠️☠️
Canadians didn’t even make the playoffs this year😂😂😂
Edmonton did this first
this is my problem with hockey media
It's all Toronto this Toronto that
I don't think that they know there is more than 1 Canadian team
Semsonov💀💀💀
Just stop talking about stupid things here. And remember leafs got what they deserved 😢 as usual
The habs are the goats
Bruh I’m a habs fan and that ain’t unsportsmanlike at all it’s just a kid getting a shot at the show who cares what the score is
And leafs give a payback by passing the first round😂
As a habs fan I don’t Mind it to much it was a nice moment for him.
Habs are crybabies, more at 11
It’s no different then when Edmonton put there Ebug matthew Berlin who plays for the UofA in with only 2:16 left in the 3rd while up 7-3
He’s not doing something bad he’s just doing something good for the kid is not disrespectful it’s he’s making dreams come true
Yes
Any other team could do that and get away with it
