Surgery still postponed so here are some stats. Again, I can't watch the games but I listened as much as I could. What follows is my opinion.

Four players with multipoint nights including Leon who's had four in a row if memory serves. Leon, Connor Brown (listens for lightning, no, no smiting incoming), Nurse, and Nuge. Oilers were outshot. Lost more faceoffs than VGK. Took fewer penalties. Got one powerplay goal (but gave up a shortie). Were the victims of ref temporary blindness (and early onset dementia because the knee on Connor and Eichel playing Ekholm's back like a Xylophone). It was 5 nothing Oilers until 15:35 of the 2nd period. Then Vegas got 2 in a minute and scored the shortie one minute into the third. The Oilers answered the shortie 38 seconds later so that momentum got killed then the boys shut it down. Skinner was exceptional (other than the one incident behind his net where he tripped over air and gave Vegas a goal (the shortie actually).

Stats wise the WTF one was 23 blocks for the Oilers to 11 for Vegas. We don't tend to block more. Oh they creamed us in hits 31 to 18 and won 10 more faceoffs than we did (38 to 28) and we had 5 takeaways to their 1 but honestly the numbers aren't really the story of the game. Vegas is a good team and there were large blocks of this game that they outplayed the Oilers and the only reason it wasn't closer (or we won at all) was Stuart Skinner (with a nod to Darnell Nurse and Ty Emberson). This is another game where all four lines scored. Vegas got a lot of chances including Eichel having a wide open net near the end of the game when Vegas pulled their goalie with over 3 minutes to play. We couldn't get an empty net goal even having multiple attempts at it.

Play La Bamba Baby. A Win's a Win (and LA won tonight so we just keep pace with them (though gain a bit on Vegas)).

    Take care all.

  2. Oil looking really good right now. Nursey playing like he should and Leon an absolute beast. Gonna have some more bumps down the road but good sign where this team is heading
