  1. They are like 4-5 wins away from the real playoff cut-off line. Haven't salvaged anything yet.
    It's a start though.

  2. I wouldn’t go as far as saying the season is salvaged, but they have at least given themselves a chance. Maybe they continue to play reasonably well the rest of the season and give themselves a shot at the playoffs, maybe we saw there best stretch of the season and they resort back to how they played earlier.

  3. The Pens are currently the 10th worst team in the league and that makes them a LOTTERY TEAM. The Pens are an illusion as a bubble playoff team and should avoid it at all costs. Being a MID because of the playoffs delusion ruins the lottery hopes we need as a franchise. While being 10th the Pens are also tied for 13th. 1 more point they'll be tied for as high as 16th. 2 points the Pens are tied with Tampa for a playoff spot. Parity is insane. I want the lottery pick. In the East wildcard the Pens are 1 point behind the struggling Rangers and only 2 points behind the Lightning. Strange.

  4. The Penguins are fun to watch again, and that's all that matters. They don't play mindless, lazy, frustrating hockey. Win or lose, we're looking better. Looking at standings with 60 games left is a little ridiculous. Enjoy the process. Tomasino and Pickering look good. Jarry is looking great. Ned is looking good. Love seeing Sully looking happier. Karlsson has played around 5 good games in a row. Good time to be a Pens fan, watching this team figure things out and play well again.
BTW, excellent albums on the wall. @nickhorwat41 has great taste in music.

  5. Sadly, this team's done worse than last year's and has significant ground to cover before they're back at being one point below the playoff line. I think we're a bubble team destined to miss the playoffs by 1 point only if everything goes really, really well from here on; making the playoffs would be a miracle. If our game record steadies out towards mediocre, we're looking at drafting at about 10th. If things go really @#$% up, we're looking at drafting top 5.
I'm leaning towards a top 10 draft pick being the likely outcome.

There was no reasonable alternative to putting Pickering with Letang. He's showing why he was a first rounder and has reminded me of early Dumoulin. Just keep him there, the alternative is Grzelcyk being first pair, who should sit instead. I'll take Ryan Shea with a blindfold over Grz at this stage.

  6. I'll say it again. This team is more talented than last years club which made the improbable late season run. No reason not to make the playoffs. Dubas needs to get a dependable D-man via trade now.

  7. Who do you bench them for Ryan shea is a bum and ST. I, isn’t that good either. Hopefully graves figures it out and 24 is good on the PP. have to just manage their minutes and pray Pickering keeps it up

  8. Stay the course. This isn't a good team. They are simply bouncing off of the bottom. They weren't good enough the last two years with a younger core. Continue to sell off players on expiring contracts. Staying where they are–not a playoff team with no hope of a Stanley Cup but not bad enough to get high draft picks–is the WORST place to be. Enjoy the wins but stay focused on the rebuild/retool. Chasing a playoff spot with an old core and expiring contracts is fool's gold.

  9. I fully expect them to trade pettersson and try to trade graves (not likely). But is oconnor part of the future? or is it better to be traded? Any chance the pens trade pettersson to the jets for yager?

  10. Pens have the worst GAA in the league. πŸ‘‰πŸΌπŸ—‘οΈπŸ—‘οΈπŸ—‘οΈ

  11. Roger McQueen at 6'5" and a center needs to be the Pens target in the draft if they can align their pick with McQueen not being drafted by other teams.
