I personally don’t blame Roy. Lou continues to run back a team that had reached its peak 4 years ago. Lane had the same problem with this team. No coach in the league could get this team back to a winning formula. When you have a GM who should be in a retirement home making decisions for this team, it’s a recipe for disaster.
Lou needs to get fired and Engvall just needs to sit in the minors for the whole year and then buy him out at the end of the year. Unfortunately we need to ship out a lot of guys and rebuild. We are not the same team from 4 years ago
I don't understand this whole Engvall drama, Engvall has always been a hot and cold player even b4 us, the guy is a 3 mill 3rd or 4th line guy, he literally is a worse version of the old Brock Nelson, Engvall scored 3 games in a row for us this year if I remember correctly then after that if he ain't scoring it's his fault we suck
It’s amazing how the NY Islanders fans have been very loyal-like myself throughout the years since 1978. To see at one time a proud, great organization back in the early 1980’s to now and recent years struggling-it just don’t seem worth the time, energy nor money to waste going to a game or buying merchandise. If the owners really cared-the team would not be last place like it is now. It’s just false hope and rebuilding since 1985. NY Islander fans do deserve better and I’m sure for most of the NY Islander players it’s also disappointing.
When I watch Roy’s post game scrums he doesn’t seem fazed by the losses. I think he knows in the back of his mind it’s all for the best. To me it doesn’t matter if Roy is back next year or not as the team will not be competitive anyway. If they are competitive then it means Lou has mangled things even worse and we don’t have a 2025 first round pick. Lou please step down. Please!
Coach is paid to make a team with the players provided. Roy seems intent in demonizing the team vs building them up. If he has a problem with the GM then Deal with the GM scapegoating PE is a weak move
