The Capitals extended their impressive 10-game road win streak with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets, tying for the seventh longest streak in NHL history. Aliaksei Protas scored both goals for Washington, while Dylan Strome assisted on the game-winner and continues to shine with 36 points this season. Goalie Charlie Lindgren was pivotal in the win, making 32 saves and showcasing his skill, especially during key moments. However, the Capitals need to improve their discipline, as they committed multiple penalties that provided the Blue Jackets with scoring opportunities. Despite this, their strong penalty kill performance, ranking at the top in the league, helped secure the win. Moving forward, the Capitals aim to tighten their game as they seek continued success in the season.

What a great goaltending matchup this game against Columbus was. Also nice the the franchise road record for the Caps to continue to 10 games. The one part that wasn’t so nice was the penalties 5-1 against the Caps.
I know there's a lot of hockey left to be played this season but this team has that aura about it. I'm not putting any level of success out of their reach. The Jets looked invincible at the beginning of the season and yet the Caps are a better club by record right now.

….and Holy GOALIES! That kid was killer!!

Dowd has got to stop taking so many penalties in the most inopportune moments, one of our best players on the PK also, such a detriment to his game…
It’s been apparent for a while, but yeah Dowd just can’t get out of his own way in taking penalties. That’s probably the biggest reason the team needed to trade for Eller besides just solidifying the 3rd line. The team needs a PK pivot when Dowd gets in trouble.
