I have watched ice skating since Brian Orser. Malerin ist very good. But the force of making more and more quads is making the artistic Part loose. Just waltch Alexey Jagudin in Winter or Mitim or gladiator. Or my favorite : the clown by Alfred Schmittke. That was Sport combined with Art. Now its jumps with trying to get some Art in between. Or watch Johnny weirs "walse triste" at Dortmund worlds. Such a piece of Art will never happen again.

I love this program. It’s exciting, it’s reckless, it’s entertaining, it’s gusty. Rather see this than watered down content to dance on ice. This is a sport. And if this hasn’t “touched” your feelings and emotions, then cry in a corner .
Great athletic content, but not enough for me, lack of artistic content. It's Figure Skating, not Jumping Skating.
Did not land one successful quad in the whole program. Shocking. Yet NBC sports is making it seem as if he landed six different quads.

Це перш за все спорт. І якщо Ілля настільки витривалий, що може робити стільки прижків, то він вартий перемог. Інші роблять акцент на артистизмі, але вони рідко на подіумі і це так має бути.

Интересно, что элемент – Бланш или переворот назад, запретили исполнять в программах. Но он сделал и получил за это баллы. Если бы этот же элемент сделали российские спортсмены, то баллы бы сняли б мгновенно.
