The Caps made good moves today in both acquiring and then signing Jensen to a contract.

Don't you mean Stanley Cup Champion Madison Bowey!?
Seriously though, spot on take. Caps improve now, Detroit potentially in the future. Caps need now and Wings need future. Good for both
I think Jensen will excel with the Caps because he’s solid and he skates so well and has good sense on when to join the rush. As a Wings fan I’m gonna miss him.
I really like the moves GMBM is making. He solidified our top 5 D for the next 2 years (we have solid D prospects) and Hagelin should fit in well in our bottom 6. Lets go CAPS!
Jensen is a solid kinda underrated defenseman
Any thoughts on flyers choosing to start Brian Elliot over Carter Hart for the stadium game?
We needed this guy big time
I think its a win win for both teams
The Wings owners look at the bottom line and were not willing to spend money. Until they get someone who is interested in winning over the bottom line they will not be in contention. What they really need is a goalie who does not let in 3 goals a game. It is hard to win when you need to score 4 or more goals to do that.
A little sad to see Jensen go because he's been decent for the Wings. I like the trade tho. I'm a little surprised that the Caps extended him. He deserves it tho.
Do you think the jets found a spot for laine with wheeler scheifele
Jensen will be a good replacement for orpik in the future
Holland made out like a bandit here. To me, Jensen was worth a fourth round pick. Getting a second and a young project out of him is incredible.
From a wings fans point of view, i like the deal. THe wings need to get a lot younger and get some players who can become nhlers in years to come. Jensen was our best defensman this season and it's sad to see him go but the return seems fair to me and i like that Ken Holland actually did something and tries to make a rebuild happen.
Honestly, I was more excited by this trade than the Ottawa one. Ottawa lost so much in Duchene compared to what they gave to get him (heck the way Ottawa is playing Colorado will get Jack Hughes and a 2nd first won't compensate that). This is a move forward for both teams with a player who was not talked about much in Jensen yet a very capable defenseman. Love the creativity of the GMs 🙂
Jeff Blashill would rather suit up an all-veteran blue-line over 30, if he could get away with it.
In DSP`s mind this is like a knife in the back. He helps them win a cup then they get rid of him only to have them sign a 4 year extension to Jensen.
super excited did not think jensen was worth that much. sad to see him go but the younger guys need ice time
Kenny Kenny Kenny I do like the drift pick. that being said we get another player that can't play hey lets give him a long term contract we need a new coach and g.m please come back Stevie . y go wings
Zadina Called up!
Waiting for someone to say something about Washington white washing the organization with the recent moves
They're done. Don't forget about Jonas Siegenthaler as defense depth. He was very impressive being a rookie. Hagelin will probably get PK minutes and Jensen is going to fill some holes. He's only taken 6 minor penalties this year while logging 20 minutes a game with a struggling team. Ovechking is STILL on fire at the right time going into the playoffs.
Jensen worked his ass off on Detroit to get a spot on the team. Should be a good fit for Washington
A huge steal for the wings got a second and a prospect for a 5th and a ok defender
The Jensen trade was alot like the Kempny trade the Caps made at the line last year that everyone thought wouldn't matter much and ended up being a homerun. Hopefully the Jensen move will have the same result but even if the Caps fall short this year, having a solid veteran blue liner locked up for the next 4 years at a good value can never hurt! I still wanna fight Maclellan over letting Trotz walk over TERM simply cuz he thinks 9 years of one coach is too long which is preposterous but at least he's made some decent deadline moves.
