WHY does Oliver Wahlstrom still have an NHL job, let alone power play time? Name one good thing he has done this season, ONE! Wahlstrom has to go. Hutton has to go. They are NOT NHL players. Martin is 2 years past his prime. There has to be a waiver wire pick up that is better than these 3.
Special teams is the main reason. You're spot on. MacLean and Albelin haven't been good. BUT I don't think LL is the person to lead the rebuild, so something has to happen on that front because the personnel is not good enough. I think LL has made it too comfortable for players he signed to long-term contracts.
Where are the owners through all of this? They (ledecky) was out front when this building went up and sat behind the goal every game taking pics with fans and signing autographs. This is on them and their "trusting Lou" nonsense. This guy and his b.s. needs to go. Franchise needs a retooling.
Half the team are minor leaguers. Goaltending has saved our ass since the Tavares days. Ownership will never sign bigtime talent. They'll sign 1 great player and 4 B or C players. Its never enough. They hold on to players too long and never get value payback. We have a guy like Roy right now, and i think we should buy in! Bring in what Pat needs to do his job. Hes older and smarter since Colorado. How many Islander coaches were let go only to go on and have great careers? What do we have to lose? Break it up!

When was the last time the islanders had good powerplay? And I don’t mean one that was hot for a few weeks. I mean one that was a constant threat every time they went a man up. Probably when Moulson was here and then Vanek. Definitely not since Tavares.
This team is slowly taking on water. I was hoping they could stay in the 8th or 9th position until Barzal, Duclair, and Pelech returned, but that is looking more and more like a pipe dream. It doesn't help that 2 of our most talented players (Dobson and Horvat) have been all but invisible. Butch said it the other night and I agree; if the PP and PK don't improve in no way is this team making the playoffs.

Wahlstrom sucks!! And Lou sucks! They both must go!! As well as nelson palmieri and dobson.and cizikas.
Wahlstrom must be traded asap with cizikas, nelson,palmieri,and dobson.for picks and a young scorer.thats it.
Coaching has a lot to do with us being 31st and 31st in special teams, our roster is better then that, i mean just look who is in goal
