.884 save percentage means the avs would give up 1 goal against in most of the games the backup would play….so those games would be legit winnable
I think that bubbles and cages should be worn in the nhl, you want to help protect the head more, there you go
This Sabres goalie is not a reliable backup he’s gonna be a miska 2.0 sakic could’ve done better to get a real backup
The problem is that the Avs need all of the following:
a good 2, solid 3, Goalie that
has an expiring contract,
is playing on a team that can afford to trade him,
is waiver eligible if Francouz returns, and
is cheap money wise and trade capital wise
And that's just not a common thing in the league.

No ty .888 or .832 ,,, not enough if Grub goes down again,,, I still think Gibson and a blockbuster trade ,is the best option ,,, all those prospects can’t all plays for the Avs,,, Gibson is elite and he has a contract for another 6 years,,,, Grub is great but hes also injury prone,,,, They need a safety plan ,,, and let’s not forget his contract is up too,,,

Fun fact, I was at the game last year in Buffalo when he debut, he did not look good.
I know he's going through a bit of a slump right now but i feel like Jake Allen backing Grubauer could be a pretty good thing. I'm not an analytics nerd so this based entirely off of a gut feeling.

I think Joe would’ve already pulled the trigger if he was willing to just get a little better at that position. My gut tells me Joe will bring in a really good one year rental with the cap space freed up with EJ and Frankie on long term IR. In Joe I trust.
Obviously backup goaltender is the main objective but what about going after Athanasiou with the Kings? Seen him burn the Avs before hes fast and could be a fun addition.
