Chris Kreider on the Trade Block | Should the Bruins be in on Him?
The New York Rangers are looking to shake things up, and the names out there are Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba.
Boston Bruins fans have wanted Kreider in the Black and Gold for years, so I will examine the cost of bringing in a player like Kreider.
I also examine the aftermath of the Boston Bruins firing Jim Montgomery and put on my conspiracy hat to explain what actually happened.

So what would you trade to get Chris Kreider?
They need more young Canadians, not washed up home town boys.
Sure, lets go for another Rick Nash/David Backes deal… that always works out.
Can I get some advice bruins or Vancouver who’s winning tonight
Yeah…nah. Methinks he's got a few decent years left that may be more inspired playing for the homeboys. The cost? What can the Bruins actually afford? OK, then- surprise me!
Mika Zibanejad to the Islanders, please. He needs a haircut.
Let's go, Blue's
Let's go, Panthers
Whoever we trade, let's not waste Brazeau, please. He's a great player who basically plays for free right now.
I like kreider but with what cap space and what assets?😂
As much as I enjoy the north-south neo-Julian Sacco era, I think the team needs a complete overhaul/reevaluation. We have 8-9 bottom-6 skaters. We have at best 1 top line forward but he can’t create on his own. Our D has no true #1 guy for either playmaking or shutting it down. And the farm is barren. Wish List: new owner, new prez and gm, and a five year plan. In the meantime, hope they grind out a 2-1 win over DeBrusk tonight.
I have no interest in Kreider. Who you giving to the Rangers in return?
I’m sticking with my original reason for the Bruins horrible start and coach Monty being let go- The leadership within the players wanted him gone and refused to play with intensity needed to win, they got their way now let’s see from here..
Call me crazy, in retrospect, Monty changing lines nearly every period may have been jntentional to prevent teammates from building some continuity. It always seemed odd that lines including the 4th were shuffled constantly. It might have been part of a plan by Monty to expedite his departure.
The Bruins lost tonight at home to Vancouver. The big difference between this loss, and all their prior losses, "They Tried" ! I know they can't win every game, but as long as they tried, that's okay. They came across a hot goaltender, this scoring drought has to break soon, I can feel it. Still optimistic !
It would make sense for the Don to give up assets and cap space for a has been
It would be great to see Kreider slot in on the first line with Zacha and Pasta. I'm sure no trade clauses wouldn't be an issue for players on either side of this. The dilemma after looking at PuckPedia is trying to figure out who the Rangers might be interested in return, that the Bruins are also willing to send the other way, and also making the math work for both teams. Rangers are $818k below the cap, Bruins are $1.022M. Also, I'm sure there Rangers are considering the impacts in relation to the Shesterkin contract as well, so expiring contracts are probably on their mind in this.
Coyle + Geekie or Frederic could work. I like Coyle and Frederic, but Kreider would add the first line scoring touch the Team needs. Geekie and Frederic are expiring deals.
Geekie or Frederic + Carlo could work, but I like Carlo with Lindholm (Rangers will only need a RD if they also trade Trouba). The only D-man I'm interested in Trading is Zadorov.
Zadorov + Geekie or Frederic could work as well. Rangers might like this to have Zadorov for after Trouba Trade, but his speed they may not want either.
To get a quality player like Kreider, the Rangers are going to want good player(s) in return. And the cap math is key here for any trade to work. Not that I want some of the guys I mentioned gone, but just looking at what I'd possibly do to make this trade work. The Bruins need scoring, need someone to play LW on the first line, and I think the trades I proposed would make the team better. I'd prefer the 3rd one I listed, but I'd bet that would be a NO from the Rangers.
CARLO FOR KREIDER
a trade ??!! Bruins cant score 1 fukn goal in the first periods of soooo many fnk games !! who is stupid eneough to get involved with them ??
I do wonder if the Bruins are gonna invoke tampering charges against St Louis. I am not accusing them of doing it, but considering what has been said. If you're the Bruins, why not try to get a couple of high draft picks if they are right. St Louis isn't going far, so unless the league doesn't give out draft compensation anymore, why not try to get a few picks.
No
We have enough high priced dead wood to keep us company. What's one guy going to do?
Jim wanted to leave Boston. You can tell. Putting different lines together every 10 minutes. He just wanted to get back to St Louis.
